Every boat owner has things they would change about their boat. We're certainly no different. But in our case, we're actually willing to openly discuss not only what we love about our Sportfishing boat, but also what we would change about her if we could.
So in this video, we discuss all the elements about this boat we don't love, from her high maintenance teak, to her frustrating generator, to her tower that causes Capt. Ron to roll back and forth, to her wide bow that causes her to struggle in a head sea.
If you're a boat, you'll appreciate this video, and we'd love to hear some of the things you don't love about your boat as well.
And of course, we'd love to have you take a trip with us so visit our website and book a trip today: speechlessspor...

Easy to add a Dometic 16k btu AC heat pump unit to your bridge deck area. About $5k for the unit, plus the cost of a circulation pump, hose, seacock, and sea strainer. Just need power for it.

That teak is so much work! Used to fish a Jim Smith with teak like that. That Blackwell is a beautiful hull!

Listening to you it sounds like myself talking about the upkeep of my teeth cover boards and Costa clear curtains LOL I couldn't agree with you more brother! It's beautiful when the teak is right but it is a labor of love and the curtains I am so anal when it comes to the curtains one thing I invested in is the spot zero once you wash them off with the Soapy mitt you can just let them air-dry with zero spots it's a game changer

I have a 2016 Key West 239 FS. I love the boat, in most respects it's ideal for the way I like to use it. The one thing I don't like is the bilge access; it's a very small hatch and is awkwardly located. But that's a tradeoff the engineers had to make to provide additional storage and a live well across the transom, so all in all I can't really complain about it too much.

That's one of the main reasons I have a Sportsman 247 bay boat. One reason is the quality build and all Gemlux hardware, the other reason is bilge access. Before I got my first Sportsman in 2019, I looked at several of the larger brand bay boats, almost every one would be laying on the deck with your arm through a small hatch trying to work on anything. That turned me away from several other manufactures.

And the walk through transom door that doesn’t open all the way! But for me, I just keep it shut and step over it. I’d love a 263 with better bilge access and another engine but man - that single engine boat has a lot of practically to it. Pros and cons…

I have a sport craft 220 and it has a transom platform. Its a nice feature but it makes the boat porpoise. I am always adjusting the damn trim tab, and when offshore the water and air gets trapped under the platform causing splashing when the boat rocks in the waves.. gets everyone wet and engine all salty

@saltwaterfishinguniversity docking is a breeze, I can go out fishing by myself if I want. Could not do that with a boat that only drives from upper deck. Having both would be cool for avoiding spray in weather. Also would like more fuel capacity. 1 day I'll get a 40ft 🙂

1 the boat is never big enough. 2 nerve has enough fuel. 3 costs too much to run. My personal boat I have gone to a 19 cc just because I fish solo 99% of the time and when I can I'm going full send. My 19 has 85 gal of gas and with the 140 Suzuki there is nowhere I can't go on the right day.

Great boat- Fighting chair is useless. Sell it back to who you bought it from. Takes up too much room on your back deck.*
