I’d be all over a Tommy Dreamer memoir, tbh. Anyone remember when he talked about after ECW folded, thinking about going to Wrestlemania X7 and shooting Heyman and himself because he was so depressed and felt so taken for a ride by all of Paul’s bollocks speeches and bs, and how Jim Ross called him out of the blue, telling him to hang on and theyll find a place for him. Real heart wrenching and brutally honest stuff. Mick Foley couldn’t even be that sincere and removed from his gimmicks and entertainership. This business and its adherents rarely open up with that stuff until tragedy forces their hands.

@EtoileLion3 жыл бұрын
Depends. For a *wrestler*, you can probably get some decent stuff out of their indies background, etc. Like even OOC said he'd want more about the Hart Dungeon. For any... non-wrestler, i'm going to call it... no, don't really need much of the pre-signing stuff, especially if it's not directly related to the business. (Again, depends on your background - if it's related to the business, it's probably worth some pages.) Roberts' book is titled "The best seat in the house", the subject matter is the WWE journey. Everything not-related to that is fluff. If it was actually a biography *about Roberts' life*, that may be different. But the subject matter of this book constrains itself down.
@theslimjames3 жыл бұрын
Does Foleys first book get a little bit of a pass because it also includes WCW talk, ie, split among national promotions? Him training to be a wrestler is interesting, but you dont need any more than 1 chapter home life, 1 chapter training, 1 chapter indies, so let's say three...unless something is interesting. But you dont need to go through the ups and downs of each podunk town you wrestle for 100 people in.

Minor point of contention at 15:00 OOC, from a similarly aged man who also grew up in the US: when going to the shops (grocery store) when you get a trolley (shopping cart) there was no token required to unchain them from the rest in order to use one. Seeing that for the first time at Sainsbury's a few years ago was the first time I realized it's a thing.
