Dear Mr. OOC, Please consider Walking the Golden Mile by William Regal. I loved it and would love your take on it. I used the added glossary he added to later works as I didn't get most of his European slang. I'd love your take on this aspect. Additionally his carny background seems ripe for your opinions. Additionally, Hacksaw: The Jim Duggan Story would be good. Given his founding role in "schmoz to the back" I feel he needs some attention. He describes a decent amount of the early era which you lot enjoy riffing on so it feels like a good choice. Thank you for your time.

Unfortunate that there wasn't more of interest in the book, but that does seem to be in line with what we know about Lex. He's not much of a storyteller and he never seemed to be all that interested in wrestling. I bet he's got plenty of stories, but it would take a good author and conversationalist to really go through his history and prompt those stories out of him.

Yeah when in history have people not talked about their religion and politics? That world has never existed. Mr Chris Lacy, I think you're confused because as a kid nobody generally talked to you about religion or politics because people don't talk with kids about that stuff, so you're imagining this mythical world where people didn't talk about this stuff openly and try to recruit people to their religion. Christianity literally has it as a law in the bible that you have to go put and try and convert people as much as you possibly can. That's why for the last 2000 years, Christians have been doing exactly that Unless you're a vampire from the pre-homo sapiens days, like you got chatting to some cro-magnon people about shit and noticed how they didn't talk about religion or politics back then, then I don't know what you're referring to. Might get heat for this but I really don't mind Rock's book. Think V1's overstated how much of it is spoken in the 3rd person, there were maybe four relatively short snippets where he'd talk as The Rock about key matches in his career, like he's doing a running commentary as if it were happening in front of him. The rest of the book, his life, career progression etc, is straightforward. The only negative about the book is Rock hasn't had that remarkably different a life to many other wrestlers, there's no real insight into the business apart from what he learnt seeing his Grandparents working as heads of the respected wrestling family.
