Peterson played 5 games and has an 864 this season. Him and Sandstrom are identical stats wise. Ersson is completely gassed. Torts said he knows he over played him. At his current pace he would have played 70 games in a full season. Fedotov just needs time, his gear isn't even broken in yet and we also received Kolosov who is playing in the AHL.

Steve, if you wanna get a card graded, highly recommend taking a drive out to Elmira to get 'em graded by KSA. They have same-day walk-through service, so you don't have to mail away your cards. Did that with my Gretzky rookie, and was very happy with the service!

The Chess reddit post only works because it's chess, it's all brain and strategy development. The hockey scenario is impossible unless you're in the body of an NHLer. You have to have the strength and speed capabilities to at least compete, then the scenario is possible. Because then it just becomes about developing the skills and you could develop that with time. And even then, it would probably take years or luck.

What's more rare.... 70 goals or 100 assists? The thing that seems to be lost in that conversation is not how many players but how many times. 70 goals happened 14 times so far where 100 assists has happened 13 times. It's slightly more even-up looking at rarity from that perspective instead of how many players have done it. After this season it might be even up with 15 of each for how many times. The truly mind boggling stat is that Gretzky did BOTH in the same year 4 times and Lemieux did it once and nearly a second time.

The feat themselves 100 assists or 70 goals are almost equal. 14 times 70 goals and 13 times 100 assists. The difference for me is there’s not an assist race every year. Nobody is trying to get as many assists as possible. Where guys are actively trying to get as many goals as they can. That’s why 70 goals is more impressive to me.

I'm almost certain Steve could beat a top NHL 24 eSports player within 500 games if it was a continuous loop. It would probably take 3000-4000 games to beat one twice in a row. Chel is just pattern recognition to be honest. I made top 8 in the NHL Gaming World Championship in 2022 and I still lose once every 15 games or so.

I'd vastly prefer Jesse's plan of essentially "loaning" the Yotes to Utah or Houston, etc, on a temporary basis while they build the arena, as opposed to Adam's idea of selling off the Yotes and then expanding back to Arizona only a couple of years later, for the sole reason of losing all of those players, many of whom have very close ties to/stories with Arizona hockey. At least with the Jets it'd been 15 years between franchises, and a lot of those players were retired or traded, etc. This would be a case of "no you (the fans) don't get to keep Clayton Keller, or Josh Doan, and all of their individual successes and stories and ties and connections to the area, you just have to sit and watch them play elsewhere and you didn't even get anything back for them via trade, you just get a new team with players you don't care about."

That would be trying to score an honest goal. I think if you park yourself in front of the net, eventually one willl go off you and in with the amount of chaos and random bounces/tips that happen. I think 200 games would definitely be enough for a lucky bounce. I think these guys in their mid 30s would probably never get good enough to score a normal goal off an actual shot or one timer.

Steve, I’m not sure that the Oilers offense is the only thing making them great. They are #1 in Expected Goals Against (xGA) and 9th in Goals Against Average (GAA) EVEN WITH the terrible start to the season…. No, Adam. Brent Burns was always a defenseman with the Wild. He went to the Sharks and played defense the first two years then switched to forward for one season during the 2013-2014 season. He went back to defense the following year. Adam, doubled down on Matthews being the leading goal scorer since 2010. He's only the leading goal scorer since he entered the league. The Coyotes were not an expansion team. Every podcast is guaranteed to have wrong facts or stats from Adam.

I like Jesses plan that if the land purchase goes through they make a deal with another city looking for expansion to have the Yotes play there until the building is finished. Utah or Houston most likely. Atlanta is the golden goose that may or may not lay anither turd but the corporate sponsorship money there is too good for Bettman and the NHL to pass up. So you make some sort of deal saying ok Utah if the Yotes make x amount more than they would in a college rink in Arizona then you guys get right of refusal basically.

Then the expansion is Utah or Houston plus Atlanta. And considering the racial make up of Atlanta if I'm the person looking for expansion. I'm on the lookout for the next Kane. The next Black NHL superstar to excite the close to majority black city of Atlanta and close to plurality black greater metro area there. Especially if you can bring in a whole line of guys to start game 1.
