@Thonny dude, I think the most challenging part is being in the jacksonville area. The water isn't the clearest and I think they scare easier. I've seen them, but not in the kind of abundance as other parts of FL. Maybe I'll go where you're at one of these days!

Will be going to Madeira beach this June. Have been watching your videos and really like them. Just a few questions 1. Do you have a favorite color for the pompano jig 2. Do you just reel and bump the bottom with your swim bait for flounder 3 have you ever caught flounder long casting or is it only shallow. 4 have you caught snook during the day with the swim bait.

Around 7:15 you mention jigging with slack (and then hook up with a cobia quickly after), any particular reason why you jig with slack?
@Thonny
@Thonny 3 жыл бұрын
When you jig with slack you’re allowing the jig to fall naturally to the bottom therefore you’re constantly working the bottom. When fishing for pompano I like to work the bottom more unless I’m trying to catch mackerel then I’d be jigging and reeling fast. Hope that makes sense! 👊

Nice! That rod looks like the perfect action for jigging! Looks like a light, moderate action. You said it’s a 7’ Medium-Heavy??
@Thonny
@Thonny 3 жыл бұрын
Yes but it feels like a medium action rod! They do come in a 7’ medium! A little bit lighter than MH. I recommend checking out the 7’ medium action. I like the backbone of the mh in case I hook onto a Cobia I’ll be able to turn its head better

@@Thonny I have actually had a look at both your rod and reel lately but it felt very similar to my rod and I match it with a 3000 Stradic.

@@Thonny nice! I ended up buying the Bull Bay Banshee in a 7’10” M action. I actually bought it at your shop during BF weekend. Couldn’t pass up the 20% off and the Banshee pairs beautifully with my 3K Ci4+. I’m now looking at either the Bolt in a 7’ MH or your Shimano rod here to turn them heads. Tight line bro! -Jeff
