Great video Thonny.... yep you usually run backwards after hookup and reel hard. But perseverance and patience got him out of the rocks... too bad under slot by 1 inch and then shows your integrity in throwing him back. You’ll get that take home grouper soon. Tight lines.

@frankrothe30644 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna have to try that soon.How many pound braid do you use and leader size. Are circles required Thanks
@Thonny4 жыл бұрын
I typically use 50lb braid and 80lb mono leader. I use 5/0 circle hook!
@frankrothe30644 жыл бұрын
@@Thonny Wow.I thought 40 & 40 would be good. Guess you need that to prevent getting rocked,
@jakefromstatefarm97214 жыл бұрын
@@Thonny what is the reason for 50 main and 80 leader? I always use a lighter leader than the main. This way if you get caught in a rock or a fish that is to big, you’ll break at the leader. If you get snagged with that setup you’re gonna have to cut you line and re spoil the braid.

The water is cooling down and the big ones are heading inshore to fatten up for the winter and you never know what's going to hit which makes it even more fun , your going to need a couple of feet of wire to keep the toothy critters from snapp'n you off and the sharp stuff on the rocks when the big boys take you into the rocks , ( oh I sent flipper there to make sure you didn't get all my grouper ✌🏻️:) Tight lines bro !
