Thanks for the information. The end where you say what you intend to use it for was also great to me. The difference between artificial and live was key. I like that toy affected a rod pairing. I'll be checking this out! Nice crib!

Do keep in mind, that at 22 pounds of drag, that is double the drag poundage of a Penn 500, so you could do far more with it than inshore. Now, how does it hold up? Who knows? But power, no question in my mind.

This video wasn't intended to compare but to show an affordable reel that most could afford and it have great components that you might find in more expensive reels.

Right, I am just wondering what sets it apart from an even more affordable reel? And that was $38 each on the Opus, not real clear before I see! I don't do a lot of saltwater fishing and am not well educated regarding the gear. Was mostly wondering if there was something I am missing?

@@Saltyscales Penn spinfisher v is more durable and has more drag, (not made from plastic like the bg is) but that makes it heavier.

Lachlan O'Neil Penn fan boy. Don't hate the diawa bg until you buy one. There not plastic. They are great for an 80$ reel. I can't hate on Penn to much I haven't bought one in 10+ years I learned from other people's mistakes who have bought them.
@lachlanoneil89385 жыл бұрын
@@robertburke1394 well it's not plastic it's graphite but it's got similar properties to plastic, it is much more flimsy but I was still thinking of buying one and I'm almost a Penn fan boy, I love their mid priced stuff but top end goes to Shimano and daiwa for sure, looking at buying a saragosa in the future, my Penn spinfisher got dunked on the first day buy a friend and I've fished with it for probably 50+ trips at the beach since (alot of sand) and no problems at all other than when alot of sand got in the drag nob it was tightening it self so I just got the sand out and as good as new.

Great review and video! If the reel is durable, it's a winner for sure at that price point. On a different note, the Daiwa RG-AB (Regal Airbail) is my favorite find for freshwater artificial fishing. Ebay, Cabela's, and Dick's Sporting Goods will have em for $39.99 from time to time. I found one for $25 new on ebay. That's a steal for a smooth as butter retrieve. I like it better than my Shimano Nasci tbh. The Nasci has better drag and sealed bearings better suited for saltwater, but at that price point the Daiwa BG, Penn, and others like this one get a shot.

it looks good, i like the strong drag, but prefer a 6 or 6.2 to 1 ratio for bass fishing, and i dont want mine to be that heavy, i may get one and check it out, i may check on the 3000 size too if they have one. everyone that needs a sweet little spinning reel for bass anbd crappie fishing needs to ebay a kastking reel i think it is called summer it is white and i have bought several especially for grandkids to use they are pretty sweet and on sale usually for $19-$23 bucks and almost as smooth as my $249 pflueger patriarch xt magnesiums, kastking has a few pretty good baitcasters in the $50-$60 range too! I would say that you did a nice job advertising this reel. It does look nice but the line on it appears to be very, very high poundage. As far as quality goes, take the reel to Alaska and catch about 200 large fresh chinook salmon and lets see how it holds up. Owned the Stradic FJ, penn Clash, penn conflict , penn Spinfisher V, Penn Battle, Penn Battle II and the list goes on. Love the Channel and sorry if I offended you, I was only making a comparison and giving people and comparing Priced good item to look at.
