What a great tribute to Amma on Mother's day. Bold enough to add Father for his role. In my earlier post i wrote she didn't tell about mother's contribution in an interview. I got the consolation and overwhelmed by this act and speech. She has impressed, influence and has a great impact in our life. The dream, vision and mission of Ahuti taking youth alongwith with her sharing her journey is praiseworthy. She looks more like her mother. Good cultured family and the good traits are noticeable. Congratulations to Kumari Sivasri. She is exhibiting all the ingredients required to be a future leader in supporting the musical art. I wish her new organization AHUTHI all the very best of success. As a budding future leader in the making, I admire her devotion for elevating the greatness of Carnatic Music to the next generation. It is a noteworthy concept. The young generation looks for peers like her. In this context, I would like to draw her attention to the works of Violinist V.S. Narasimhan, who has the same aspirations like her. V.S. Narasimhan learnt Carnatic music from his father at the age of 3 years, became a professional musician also at a very early age ; he learnt Western classical music as well. He scored music for movies and played violin solos in many movie orchestras and collaborated with many musicians in India and abroad. But his passion was always classical music. Because of his training in both Indian and Western systems, he arranged some Carnatic pieces for his string quartet bridging the two systems. His very first album in this format caught the attention of some world class musicians like Yo Yo Ma, Zubin Mehta and others who wrote to him about their appreciation. Much encouraged, he kept working in this hybrid system and recorded a significant number of albums. The book was published this January, 2024.
