I feel like a lot of the small teams put on really good games in bowl season. Sure there’s opt outs and transfers to but they aren’t hitting nearly as hard and unlike the big teams the players are actually appreciative of making a bowl game for a team like Western Michigan or South Alabama.

South Alabama's Jeremiah Webb (#81) was on one in the first half of this game. At one point I thought he was gone get 200 yards or more receiving. But give WMU's defense their props, they handled him in the second half as he had no big plays or a TD catch. But when WMU shut down Webb, the South Alabama running game took over and it was lights out for the Broncos.

I rebuilt WMU in CF25. They've got a nice little stadium and it is fun to go against Eastern, Central, Mich St, and UM every year. Recruiting against UM, ND, and Ohio State for local players can be challenging though.
