It's not always easy lol. I have a severe Macaw since 6 mos old and she's now 21 yrs old. There's so much to learn and they change when they're any changes in your life. Even putting a new fixture in the room, people, hormones and aging. Patience, love, body language is key, play time, lots of time or of the cage, 12 hrs sleep night, variety foods and a yearly exam that includes exam, blood work and X-rays. X-rays. After her cage being in one room for 21 yrs we moved to the back room because of house construction. It took her a few days to really come out and start acting herself again and I am home with her all day. She has now gotten extremely "curious". She's getting into EVERYTHING! LOL. She's still scared w certain things but she's definitely gotten much more adventurous. So a toddler for life. When they act one way and some reason act another ... There's ALWAYS a reason for behavior changes. So get to learn your bird. Good luck w your new family member. My Severe Macaw is a silly and delicate lil spoiled girl for sure!

My birds never get out of the cage, but that's for a good reason. Summer wants to be with Winter but Winter wants to be with Autumn and Autumn can't figure out how to fly and Winter isn't leaving the cage so she doesn't want to. It's a big mess

my birds are named summer and winter as well total 4: freya, summer, phen (short for phoenix) and winter they dont come out da the cage as well but becz they feel comfortable in the cage. i let them out anyway atleast once a week!

don't try to push yourself on the budgie too hard. give it some space to get used to you for minimum 2 weeks.. then slowly try to introduce yourself to it everyday. its a slow process but you need to be careful not to get too impatient, other wise it might become harder to get close to it! and congratssss!!!

Hi. I would recommend to get ur little one checked out and see what may the doctor say, maybe ways to help her is spending lots of time w her and keep her occupied, if u dont have the best relationship with her then try gaining her trust

idk if it alrming or not, because ur budgie could be going thru molting (which is like puberty but for birds) you can search it up but if its not that, then u need to take her to an avian vet for a professional look!

Quite often females will fight each other. I’ve always read that two males are pared better than two females! You may need to separate them if they’re regularly fighting 😢

I have a GCC. He didn't like me at all. Once you hang out with your pet bird, then you can see a change. Birds don't like to be left alone. They need attention from their owner. This is how you can make friends really quick. Most animals have an understanding of their owner. These are strictly house bound animals. Not Wild. These animals can't survive on the Wild. I found a Cat, it was home bound. The owner must have let it out permanently. It came to me, then I started feeding her. I wasn't allowed to have animals in my living. So I had to give her to Humane Society. I was really upset. I would go to the Humane Society just to see her. I even bought Cat Food for her. I was told, Humane Society will give my food to the other Cats as well. Not my idea, but that's what unethical people do. I went to say hello to My Cat, and was told I couldn't do this. Next, I look, Sara is being purchased. I loved her, and she loved me back. I was told to leave due to my motherhood. Animal's are extremely knowledgeable. They understand you better than you think.

1) it should be a flight cage where both have them can have more than enough room to flap their wings and fly around.. 2) introduce them to toys.. they might be scared at first but u have to do it slowly first keep it in their cage and get them used to it, then place some of their foods on the toys and try to attract them to it.. u can see videos on how to get ur birds to play wd toys but its important to keep them happy! 3) give them some of ur time everyday where u can just talk to them, even if its just for 10 mins a day but this is imp so they can know ur not an enemy 4) be patient 5) provide them with best foods! seeds are good but not the only thing in their diet. in fact, just seed diet could do more harm then good! give them greens like spinach leaves, maybe coriander leaves and these leaved should be given more then the seeds.. for my budgies i place leaves for them abt ever 4 - 6 hours depending on how they eat. but seeds they eat only 3 times a day.. once early morning, midday and then at night so their diet consists of leaves and seeds equally! give them different fruits and veggies at least 2 - 3 times a week! BUT CAUTION: some fruits or veggies can be harmful to ur birds.. idk abt love birds so do ur research first before giving them anything to eat! hopefully, this helps!!

I really need help. Its been 5 months!! The first month i actually got the opportunity to pet them and have them on my finger! But after a month out of no where they were genuinely scared me! Whenever i tried to change their food, water, etc... they are anxious... im trying to gain their trust by hand feeding them millet, it kinda works and even touched my finger with their beaks while eating with no fear! keep doing the millet thing everyday but slowly.. dont push yourself on them give them time to get to know u and gain back their trust.. dw, its normal. I got two budgies 6 months ago and one even passed away but the 2nd one is still not very close to me. she must have been thru alot in her life to be so scared.. its just that when i bought them, they mated and had 4 kids and now the four kids are very attached to me! i try my best to take good care of them wd luv but their mother (who is the budgie who still doesnt trust me) stays away.. you just hv to trust in the process and let them come onto ur hand without u pushing them to do it! it could take some time (like weeks, months or years) but u hv to be patient otherwise u could possibly strain ur relationship even further!

I’m sure if you have a good carrier it should be fine. Just be prepared for the long drive; have some spray millet, food, water, etc. Make sure it’s comfortable on the way home 😊

@@anteljubas_ that is a very valid fear; if you have an area in your house that’s pretty enclosed and safe without anything the bird can hurt themselves, that’s a good area to move it from the carrier to the cage. If you have a small washcloth you can also use it to gently pick up the budgie and transport them into the cage if you don’t want them flying around just yet. Glad I could help!

I don't think my birds like me :/. One definitely screams and they hardly sing anymore. Idk if it's In part because we have a cat. I keep them in a room while the cat gets the house... Idk what to do anymore.... Even put a towel on the floor so the cat can't claw them. Maybe I should get rid of one and try slowly building a relationship. I'm patient and slow so moving too fast at least isn't the issue.

Not really responsible to have birds and a cat, my advice is to have a safe room and just dont give up! Keep trying to get them to eat millet from your hand or step up. If you give up the birds will see it and realise they can just scream or nip and you go away.
