Got to agree, you both compliment each other. I used to work in an accident repair workshop and Chris is an outstanding guy, there is nothing he cannot do. His attention to detail and skill in mechanics, bodywork, welding is outstanding. I am glad he is not working for some garage, but working as co-owner. Chris's level of skills on all aspects of automotive repairs never ceases to amaze me! He must have the patience of a saint to spend all those hours on that bearing! That looked a very complex engine but you guys got to the root of the problem quickly and found a solution albeit temporary. Not a great indictment on the ingenium engine that it is basically toast at only 100k, would expect a modern diesel engine to be capable of at least twice that mileage and then some!

And it's fantastic to see a man who knows his onions ( and potatoes) , bring an engine that was " knocking " like a Groupie at the stage door of a Roger Whittaker concert, back to life . You 2 are simply amazing, and it shows in the 1700 plus likes to this video. I want more of this , this is the content that stands you head and shoulders above all other car related KZbin channels . @hedydd23 жыл бұрын
Isn't this a Ford engine as fitted to a Mondeo of the same age?
@fraser77443 жыл бұрын
@@hedydd2 No its an Ingenium diesel. More than 1.5 million have been made since 2014. Problem with the transverse application up until 2019 was the dpf being a short distance from the engine rather than up close to it as in Jaguar XE and XF for instance. If used for short stop start journeys only with no longer journeys, the dpf cleaning cycle is forced by injecting additional fuel to heat the engine up with resulting oil dilution as the excess goes down the bores. If oil services are not carried out at more frequent intervals, engine wear is the result.
@Vali.N3 жыл бұрын
@@fraser7744 so did they fix the issue since 2019? Having a brand new engine going bye bye after just 100k, on such a price tag of a car seems nuts to me.
