It’s important to know, Ann and Nancy Despise the 80’s videos they were “made” to make. To truly witness the Greatness of Ann and Nancy, you must watch them live. Heart’s induction concert into the Rock Hall is amazing and a must react! Their normal stripped-down, none-glamour, just rock and roll.

Good intro to Starship with Grace Slick and Mickey Thomas would be the song "Jane" Mickey sings lead and has a great set of pipes on him. You should also check out the song "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" by Elvin Bishop. Mickey Thomas is also lead on it. There is a great live video from the Midnight Special for that one. Starship used to be Jefferson Starship and before that they were Jefferson Airplane. Due to law suits by some original band members they simply became Starship. Please check out the song "Miracles" by Jefferson Starship from the mid 70's. You will love all these requests. Thanks and God Bless.

While Toronto did record "What About Love" in 1982, they didn't include it on their album "Get It on Credit", though it came during those sessions. When the album was reissued in 2002, this recording was finally included as a bonus track, and it sounds alright. Their best known track from that album was "Your Daddy Don't Know", which turned out to be their most successful one.

I knew what was coming and that you would change your mind at the end lol Would love to see you reacting to some newer Heart songs from the 2000s and 2010s, specially from the albums Jupiters Darling and Fanatic. They cranked out some of their best songs from their entire catalogue, and some of their heaviest rock songs, that don't get a lot of attention because of the whole music industry machine of course.

Just as I said Brigade was a good solid album, don't give up on this one either, there's some more diamonds to be mined here. This and Brigade are a couple of good albums that could almost be seen as "Core Heart", there are a few other tracks not on those two, but if you got them in your playlist too then you got a significant proportion. Have fun, and be well.😉

Ann Wilson is to female rock vocalist as Steve Perry is to male rock vocalists. Simply the best. Her vocals are amazing. Not sure why they never teamed up together for a song or two. That would have been epic.

SalvoG, it was Hearts comeback because their original record label tried marketing them as lesbian sisters to juice sales! so they quit recording at their peak, came back as more of a pop rock sound, still great stuff...check out their early work, esp first 2 albums..good one, thanks

The 1985 era was kind of weird. I had gotten several different recordings of the same songs. From what I could find there were about 5 versions of the original album that had slightly different vocal cuts. Two versions had guitar fills and a drum solo at the end of this song. Sometimes the band played this more instrumental version live. On the singles you could often find 5-6 remixes of the same song. Like the old cd music clubs in the 1990's the 1985 heart album was very different mix than the standard version you could find in stores.

i loved this era of heart as well. but, in reference to your observation about the missing guitar riffs/solos, here, one has to remember, that the founding members were the heart and soul of the guitar work. those epic riffs on songs like barracuda, magic man, etc, are some of my favourite guitar work ever. but ann and nancy kicked those two out of the band, after their relationships soured. so THAT also was a playing part of the band reinventing themselves. that key element was now missing.
@Hellfire9942 жыл бұрын
"Ann and Nancy kicked those two out" Roger Fisher was VOTED OUT by the rest of the band after he smashed a guitar near Nancy Wilson's head (something that could have killed her). As he recalls, in his own words, only one other member didn't vote him out. Howard Leese continued to provide amazing solos in 80s Heart. And guess what kind of music Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier were making in the 80s? Just look up the band "Alias", they even have music videos.
@zzz7zzz92 жыл бұрын
@@Hellfire994 oh sure, the fact of their romantic relationship played NO part in it whatsoever. Ya right.
@Hellfire9942 жыл бұрын
@@zzz7zzz9 Yeah, it turned Roger angry and violent after their breakup (because he cheated on her) and the entire band voted him out because of that. According to their autobiography (which you can choose to believe or not) even Steve Fossen who was his friend for 15 years and the original co-founder of their first band, thought it was best for him to leave so he could clear his head. Roger himself said "being voted out saved his life" because he was in a downright spiral of self destruction. Ann and Nancy didn't "kick him out," the entire band did.

heart had been circling the drain saleswise. the previous record contract ended and they thought it was all over. the only way they got a new recording contract was to agree to everything. most of the songs are covers. their image marketing videos everything was out of their control. it sold 5x platinum. the previous 2 albums didnt even go gold. this was the second coming of Heart. many despise it as too commercial. but they didnt have a choice. regardless... Personally I’d suggest skipping this era of power ballads and check out more of their older and newer stuff. Some songs that I think deserve a listen are the following: Sing Child, White Lightning and Wine (live at KWSU TV studio, Magazine, Little Queen, Sylvan Song/Dream of the Archer, Cook with Fire, Lighter Touch, Bebe le Strange, Down on Me, City’s Burning, the Wolf, Sleep Alone, Desire Walks On, Rage and wow that’s a lot of songs. But for their newer stuff, which is amazing imo, check out Mashallah!, Oldest Story in the World, and Dear Old America.

Ann and Nancy, at this point, probably could or maybe even should've changed their name to something else like the "Wilson Sisters", etc. This 80's version was good, but didn't have any of the original members left. They would have been just as successful. When they went into the Rock HOF, I'm glad they went in with the classic 70's line up with Roger Fisher, etc. That line up will always be "Heart" for me.
@rwcoving2 жыл бұрын
That's really not entirely accurate. Howard Leese was still in Heart at this point and he was one of the Dreamboat Annie originals (maybe not the 1967 version, but for all practical purposes Heart didn't become the Heart anyone knows or cares about until Ann and Nancy joined and that first album was released). So you really have 3 original members with a different bassist and drummer. I prefer the 70s stuff as well, but Private Audition showed their direction at that point had run it's course and the band had become washed up. If you remember in the early 80s Heart had become like Kansas and other's 70 bands that were all but forgotten. They wouldn't be in the Hall of Fame today if they hadn't had that 80s/90s period and their later work to keep their name in circulation. From 1981 to 1984 and 1995 to about 2004 they had completely disappeared from relevance. Even Roger Fisher has said without Ann and Nancy reinventing it a few times none of them would be in the Hall of Fame. So yeah I agree the 70s (especially Dog and Butterfly) is their peak, but without the other eras of the band it's doubtful anyone under 60 would have a clue who they are today.

Hard transition for moi. 🤷♀️ Die hard 70's Heart fan, I stood the edge, still do. Ok I'm going to give some constructive criticizim. When you stop the song you should know what to say so you don't drone on with so many "um's" and "like's". You also stopped the song to say how there was no guitar solo about 5 seconds before the guitar solo, so don't waste time talking about something you don't even know if it's the case yet. Lastly...don't sing...you can't sing and it just looks unprofessional. All the good reactors know not to sing badly along with the artist. Just my 2 cents in hopes that it helps you be a better reactor because I like you reactions for the most part.
@conrad46672 жыл бұрын
We all sing along to our favorite songs and I like seeing how quickly Salvo “learns” the song and what parts he sings along with and which parts are the first to which he sings along. I am not here to listen to the music foremost, but to see a reaction of bodily movement, eyes, vocal expressions, stream of consciousness, interpretation, thoughts and where they lead, etc.
@jodij6280 Жыл бұрын
I love his reactions, regardless of the things you criticize. If I wanted to listen to the song in it's entirety I'd play the video myself.
