Who knew Amazing Grace needed a metal scream? He puts all on notice that Grace is that powerful. He has stated that he is a Christian and put this out for Easter. Some want him to be a Christian singer but he is a metal singer down to his bones who not incidentally is Christian. I had never found metal music accessible to me and clicked on this out of boredom soon after it came out. At the end I was crying. Dan Vasc has introduced me to what I was missing. I feel this 250 year old song has waited all this time for someone to be able to highlight its message with this power which only a metal singer can produce. His extensive repertoire of covers can keep you busy for a long time. Amazing Grace was my introduction to Dan Vasc. I was intrigued and wanted to see how a "heavy metal singer" performed this song/hymn I grew up with. It's the most beautiful rendition I've ever heard and I was instantly hooked on Dan Vasc. While he admits it took him a while to decide to pursue music professionally he has a very strong musical pedigree; his father was a musician and gave Dan the harmonica he plays here when he was 7 and his mother was an opera singer. Dan is the vocalist and orchestral arranger for the heavy metal band Fearless, which he formed with his brother Davi (electric and bass guitars) and friends Giovanni Rezende (drums) and Gabriel Belozi (electric guitars). Fearless doesn't perform live outside Brazil and has only recently completed recording new music based on a recent post by a sound/recording engineer discussing putting final touches on Fearless music. Since Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom has been out since October 2019 this is the only thing that makes sense. No more info is available at present so you might want to keep watch. I check for updates several times a day. 😉 Happy anticipation!

You will not regret going back and reacting to any of Dan's videos. Metal is his favorite genre, but he has covers in all kinds of styles from opera, to folk, to do-wop. He does some Broadway tunes that will make you wonder why he isn't on the stage. But yeah, he's a metalhead. He says metal is an attitude more than it is a style of music, and it's obvious he's got the attitude no matter what he sings.

So glad you found Dan Vasc. He is an awesome singer. His Witcher covers are great. His newest is O Holy Night and I guarantee you have never heard it performed the way he does it. Also his cover of Iron Maiden's The Number of the Beast is a beast, pardon the pun. You can't go wrong with any of his music He sings metal, opera, rock flawlessly. Welcome to Vasc Nation! Daniel Vasconcelos is pronounced Vas-con-chay'-lows (as in the word "gross"). Both Dan and his brother Davi (pronounced Dah-vee') simply use the first four letters Vasc, which is pronounced vask (as in flask). Davi, by the way is an EXCELLENT musician and singer, himself, and he writes game music--including the FULL OST for the Coromon game (it's GORGEOUS music). He has his own KZbin channels (two of them). One is about the game music that he reacts to, as well as what he has written. The other is his actual game-play. Both channels are superb. Dan and Davi also head up their own EXCELLENT metal band named "Fearless." In 2019 they released their own (original) album called "Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom," which is tremendous. Another original album is being released very soon. Also, Dan has completed a full MANOWAR tribute (cover) album, which should also be showing up on all of the music sites. soon. I think you did a great reaction to this song--including your estimation of Dan's techniques. I've subbed, and now will be watching for more reactions. Thanks for reacting to Dan. Amazing Grace was the first song I heard him sing, though he had been on KZbin for ten years prior to this. It took me down the DV rabbit hole, and I've been enthralled ever since. My very favorites are the ones that are his pure singing, with lots of emotion. Loch Lomond, Dawn Over a New World, and Music of the Night touch me deeply, but the rest of his library is very impressive. He puts his heart into every song and draws you into his performance. My favourite Dan song? Impossible to choose. I tried to do a Top Ten Fave list but it turned into Top 50. Just pick one and hit play. If you want his most intense metal screams do Bring me to Life.
