I had the privilege of meeting Chris Cornell with Audioslave back in 2007. I won VIP tickets, that MySpace held back in the day, to their show. 3 lucky winners (with + 1) from every country. So I was 1 of the 3 from Sweden 🇸🇪 that won! I couldn’t believe it. Still don’t to this day. I got to see them perform + go backstage for pix and autographs.. 😍 I brought my lillsis with me. So she could take some pix. I had gotten my first tattoo about 6 months prior to this, and the band really liked it and it was the talk of the moment. Really nice dudes. Chris was little quieter than the rest of the band members. But he was really kind and signed a promo pic of him, then rest of the members signed too.. So I have it at home. But never framed it. Never got my mind to do it. Then Chris passed away.. RIP🙏🏻 I think I’m gonna frame it this weekend, bc of watching you listening to AudioSlave.. Brings back memories when I discovered them, but back then..😊 Thanx for a great reaction! Plz react to more AudioSlave! Lots of great songs!🙌🏻 🇸🇪Greetings from one of the suburbs in Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪

Chris has 4-Octave range so these runs are insane. First time I heard him sing "Beyond the Wheel" in 89, I was blown away didn't even know that was possible. Chris is just better he can sing in any era and sound amazing. I think you nailed it Soundgarden was the bridge between Rock and the beginning of the grunge era.

LOVE your reaction Salvo and yes... you have been sleeping on Chris! Damn, he was such a beautiful soul and has such a beautiful (and rocking) catalogue!! Please continue with Chris in Soundgarden, Temple of The Dog, Audioslave and his solo works... it's all nothing but magic. I saw a quote somewhere by Morgan Freeman where he said "Musicians are modern day prophets"... when it comes to Chris Cornell and the guys of Grunge, I believe that firmly! Beautiful reaction Salvo! Thank you for sharing it with us!!🥰 I recommend you go back to the beginning for Chris in Soundgarden. My vote: "OUTSHINED" next. It's a rocking tune, the vid kicks azz and the lyrics are timeless!!!💯💯💯 Sneak peak on the lyrics to "Outshined"... "I'm looking California but feeling Minnesota"- Chris Cornell P.S. It's not a "twang", it's a "yarl" and VERY prominent in Grunge vocalists. They sing with a deep guttural, grungy, dirty messy vocal style and typically lean in on consonants esp. N's and G's. You literally feel every word. Chris and Eddie Vedder were/are the masters of it. Grunge is as real as it gets.!! RIP Chris... "No one sings like you anymore"❤

Better late than never Salvo! This supergroup was fire! Don't forget Chris' first 'supergroup' Temple Of The Dog, a response to the death of Chris' friend Andrew Wood. Members of Pearl Jam & Soundgarden making a killer rock album. Songs like: Push In Forward Back, Say Hello 2 Heaven, Hunger Strike are all musts!

The grunge movement of the 90s was a direct harken back to the early 70s in blues based guitar rock. Audioslave was a last gasp of true rock and roll in an age of autotune, Brittany, and boy bands. Even in fashion, the bell bottoms were back, long haired 'hippie chicks" and a lot of other late 60s and early 70s comebacks. I miss the 90s musically, (a great answer to the bubble gum pop 80s)

It's fun to watch you discovering it. A long time ago in my hometown of Lawrence Kansas, there was a venue that really kind of took off, and it was a combination of local music like the bands that I played in, but it also brought in all kinds of interesting stuff from across the country but in certain times maybe all over the world. Plus not to mention that we had the Outhouse out there in the country for the punk scene and there was more overlap than you would think. But at any rate I remember seeing Soundgarden they're in the early days and I rate it as one of my loudest decibel conference experiences for that venue. Social D came close as well. This is an absolutely brilliant song but check out his acoustic stuff that he did mostly after this, it's incredible. A lot of fantastic covers and a lot of just mind-blowing Originals. Also he contributed track to a documentary about refugees and it's called oh, the promise. It is paired with video from the documentary and it is a gut-punch but it's very positive at the end. To really understand how talented he was, check out the James Bond movie theme that he contributed. Casino Royale. I strongly believe that Chris Cornell was one of the greatest singers of at least a couple Generations around this time.

Soundgarden was one of the Big Four of grunge, with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains. Their _Badmotorfinger_ album dropped not long after _Nevermind_ and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" brought grunge to the forefront. "Outshined" was the first Soundgarden single, if you want to hear the way us old-timers were introduced to the band. They were known for creating complex hard rock, with frequent use of unusual time signatures, tunings, and arrangements. Kim Thayil's work is more idiosyncratic than any lead guitarist I have ever known. Audioslave was much more traditional, staying with 4/4 timing and more typical rock guitar work.

Thanks for reacting to my favourite song of all time Salvo 🙏 It still gives me goose-bumps/chicken-skin hearing this song even after hearing it for hundreds of times already. For me, the whole song runs off Tim Commeford's bass. The switch from electric to acoustic guitar by Tom Morello later in the track also works really well. I would recommend "Show Me How To Live" as the next track to listen to, it's a banger............as is Cochise (pronounced 'co-cheese').
