Mr. Calagione is one of the most laid back well spoken men I have ever had the opportunity to listen to. I love his beer, I wish I could get it shipped to me.

What Sam said that I loved was "All beer is good" Being a home craft brewer, people think I'm a beer brat on one hand, then there's those that think I don't understand craft cuz I drink Miller Lite while I brew.....Beer is beer and if you can drink it, enjoy it, and have a good time, then have at it....Cheers to Sam for his philosophy

+Jay C But just like anything else, there's beers that I don't like. Example, I could drink stuff like Guinness, Negra Modelo, Miller lite, but I just hate the taste of Bud Light. So, I kinda disagree on the "All beer is good" part. I don't understand why it has to be different with beer, than something like a soda. The reason I said what I said in the last sentence, is because people seem to act like I'm a snob for not liking a certain beer. :P

Always loved Dogfish, probably my favorite brewery. And, also really proud that one of the best breweries is just a state's line away from me. And seeing how passionate and, dare I say crazy Sam is about what he does is definitely an inspiration.

@ChadzBeerReviews Thanks. I agree. I don't go ga-ga for all of their experimental beers, but most of the beers that I love from them were experimental when they were released. That spirit of innovation has inspired a lot of brewers to think outside the box and I think that's why Dogfish Head is important. I left the brewery that day way more impressed with DFH than I was before the day began.

I agree; I love 60 minute, and even more so, 90 minute. 120 though is SO strong and SO over the top, I just can't say the same thing about it. I had to drink the single 12oz bottle for over an hour, it was so strong! I'll give them props though, for it, it's different!

@brandon0409 The treehouse is a somewhat recent addition, it's from Steam Punk and DFH purchased it and had it shipped cross country, then put it up. They do have a meeting room in there. Fits their off centered image and in my opinion is bad ass. They made a brew pub exclusive of it, Steam Punk Porter, that was outstanding, wish they'd bottle it. Thanks for watching!

@StumpyJoeJr I had your question ready to go on my computer and I ran out of time. During the interview, I started to worry that talking about the ancient ales might be redundant to some of the stuff that we talked about, but in retrospect I think it would have worked. I also have some outtakes that aren't being released today that will be released in a couple of months that you might like.

@ThePaisteTrout477 I find that some of their beers are way better the second or third time I've had them after the expectations have been lowered. I didn't like Midas Touch the first time I had it. I retried it when I was researching this interview and I loved it. Completely different mindset.

It is just unique to DFH and visually it sticks out against the big square brewery. If you are a shooter looking for something interesting to take photos or videos of, then that is pretty much the only thing on the outside of the brewery.

Love the fact that Sam has no interest in selling to some jackass multinational and no interest in going public. Stay strong. The U.S. needs more businessmen like him to give the finger to the widget salesmen like InBev, et. al. Good interview. Good questions. Bravo.

@plumerjr I think some of their experiments have to be taken with a grain of salt. Not every beer they make is for every beer drinker, but when you find one of their beers that is right for your pallet, then it is usually a work of beauty. I just Chickory Stout last night for the first time in a long time and discovered that it was way better than I remembered.
