He turned back into the Jets version of Sam Darnold yesterday .. I’m okay with passing on him

Whatever Myles wants is what we better get.
@basher51079 сағат бұрын
I’m not concerned with Myles he wants a chance at a SB and he has earned the right to want that so if the team under performs this next season I’d trade him I don’t want to but he’s earned the right to move on and we need a QB and picks and everyone’s happy No matter what he needs to get signed at the end of his career so he can enter Canton as a Brown.
@banditY2K14 сағат бұрын
The last 8 days probably cost Sam Darnold $20-25mil just for next season. He blows... Browns should stay far away from him.
@stevethomas714611 сағат бұрын
Darnold got betrayed by the Vikings offensive line against the Rams... He'll probably throw less interceptions than Winston.

The man was sacked nine times that's not on him and that's what the Vikings do they throw the ball down field for big plays so he has to hold the ball for the receivers to get down field
@toddtraut77219 сағат бұрын
@ there were plenty of times he could of thrown the ball away. He holds it too long and runs into sacks. Just like Watson.

I would take Justin field, develop him more. Draft a DE and a OT and try to get T. Higgins.
@duzzitmatter867913 сағат бұрын
Draft an OG/OT (Grey Zabel) and a DT (Mason Graham) Higgins is too expensive to have him on the roster without a competent long term starting QB. Maybe you can get away with a 1-2yr contract but with the DW4 contract on the books, it ain’t gonna happen.
@traci6358 сағат бұрын
I'd be fine with Fields as the starter IF we draft a quality QB to develop and sign a very good veteran like Flacco ....
@edalexander61554 сағат бұрын
That would be nice to pick up fields. But I would still draft a qb no later than thec2nd rd. Trade down pick up a extra 2nd rd pick. Get your defense end otk left tkl that is. Yes T. Higgins would be nice. I think Fields could keep you in the hunt next yr.

I think the “value” in signing Sam Darnold is, if you intend to trade the 2nd pick taking him off the market increases the trade value of that pick. Let’s say they pay him 10M with 15-20M in incentives. Let’s say that we trade from 2 down to 6 and pick up a second round pick. What is the value of Pick 7 in the second round? If his contract is loaded with incentives then he basically gets paid only if he performs well.
@Justaguy3005_15 сағат бұрын
Sham darnold
@TheChamrod0415 сағат бұрын
I would sign Sam Darnold if he could sign for a 3 yr, $70 million deal broken down like this: 2 yrs with guaranteed money, $18M base per season ($36M), plus up to $17M in incentives that are dependent on how far in the playoffs he goes. I'd also give him a $20M signing bonus to minimize the base salary hits to the cap. This deal gives him a $23M AAV which i feel is fair. This gives the Browns a bridge QB and '26&'27 to solve the QB position long term.
@normanklein315514 сағат бұрын
I think the Browns idea that an NFL ready QB is just going to fall into their lap is a fool's errand. The Browns need to start concentrating on how they can DEVELOP an NFL ready QB just as the Ravens and Bills developed Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen into premier NFL QBs. The Browns should start by trying to develop Winston Jameis, instead of throwing him into the trash heap after a couple of bad throws. I truly believe that a competent QB coach can bring the number of interceptions thrown by Winston down into the mid single digits.
@jahsoul35714 сағат бұрын
The last time Winston was in a balanced offense, he was #2 in EPA, #2 in QBR, #1 in TD%, lowest TD/INT ratio, #1 in play-action passer rating and EPA, #1 in RZ passing conversion rate, #10 in passer rating, and this is while throwing to UDFAs and Kamara. It's less about "coaching" interceptions down and more about scheming. Instead of keeping the hybrid offense built for DW4, they should have found a way to transition back to what Stefanski normally does. Instead, play calling went to Dorsey...lol

Lowkey Dillon Gabriel interest me. Similar to Brock purdy, give him some weapons and he can run an offense with little turnovers. And does him being left handed fix the Left Tackle problem since that edge wouldn’t be coming on his blind side?

@ We should not draft a QB this year. Our bridge guy has to be on a two year deal with the possibility of staying on as the backup. That could be Darnold but we have to address our O line first.

Is Darnold better than we have? Absolutely. Is he capable of winning a playoff game? After what I just saw? I don't believe so. Our top 4 options, Shedeur, Cousins, Rodgers, Darnold I am not confident in at all. However, I think i'd take the previous three over Darnold.
@TheOwenCassidy15 сағат бұрын
i want to stay away from sanders at all cost. ward id be much more comfortable with ward, but not thrilled about. i’d really prefer cousins or rodger’s. or a sleeper i love that not many are talking about, is malik willis. dude looked awesome in his year two pre season on the titans and his couple starts for green bay. would love to give that kid a full year starting to see if he has any NFL talent, and he’d probably only cost a future 7th or 6th
@Meowmeow050615 сағат бұрын
@@TheOwenCassidy I disagree that's what he'd cost. He's a quality backup for Green Bay. Good backups aren't exactly easy to come by, that's why Case Keenum got a bag wherever he went, Chase Daniels etc
@TheOwenCassidy14 сағат бұрын
@ well they paid a 7th for him last offseason. and i think they could lose him for nothing next year to a team like us that wants to give him a chance, so i doubt the price would be crazy high for a trade. with most teams who need a QB being more willing to draft a rookie in the 4th or 5th than trade for willis, since our team is more vet focused than said other teams, i think we’d be the top suitor for him. id be willing to pay a 5th for him, i think he has that jalen hurts typa growth in him. but i could see them taking a 6th or two since that’d be a upgrade in value over the 7th they gave for him, plus they could lose him in free agency for nothing next year. doubt willis wants to be a career back up without getting a shot to start somewhere
@jahsoul35714 сағат бұрын
How do you know Darnold is better than what you have; because he played for a better coach, on a better team, with a better run game, and a better defense? If you believe he is better, you have to ask yourself, "what would Darnold do as the QB of the 2024 Browns, with no run game, Ken Dorsey calling plays, the O-line struggling because of scheme fit, and the defense giving up big leads?"
@wolfc728016 сағат бұрын

When I saw the Buckeyes destroy USC with Darnold, I knew he was going to be average at best. Cousins is the better option knowing the synchronicity with KS. Draft two QBs to develop with Bevell as the OC. We went with Schwartz as a vet DC. Be ell taught KS, have him develop QBs, too.
@michaeldenero365012 сағат бұрын
I said two weeks ago and I understand I am not an expert…BUT the Browns should go after Joe Milton. He’s is an athlete, a stud and potential upside is huge. Don’t blow this opportunity to get the QB who can be the solution for a long time, mark my words, believe me when I tell you

I think more than 4 teams are going to be looking for a QB, what about the Giants or Saints?
@matthewitt535414 сағат бұрын
Hot take: take both Sam and Cousins. It fits the competition the front office talked about and secures the position for a year with more stability than it's had in a while. It sucks the air from the limited qb market, driving up the price of that 2nd pick, especially if Tennessee takes Carter. It means we child trade down more likely to get Carter, too, with more qb hungry teams. It signals we are the trade partner to get a qb too. If we do trade back, those extra picks can be put towards a 2026 draft qb. It leaves no question about #4. It would probably require over paying one or both Sam/Kirk, but with the acl insurance $$, a year over paying isn't bad, and it turns $5-10 million per mid qb into draft capital for a cheap qb for the next 5 years (assuming you hit decently well on your qb).

Or the opposite, a lot of kneejerk from those that look at stats without context. The Vikings were one of the better teams in the NFL, outside of QB, with one of the weaker schedules. KOC is a great coach and they are better on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, again, outside of QB. Darnold would be a fool to leave the Vikings
