What about Joe Milton III? Played one game and looked good, (yes against a Bills team resting starters) but if we are trying to go back to the old norm he looked competent in a van pelt offense. Young, good upside, cheap. I think my ideal is Kirk / Darnold (if he’s around 15-25 mil a year primarily incentive based), Milton / Trask, and Dart (any qb they like in draft 3rd and later) late 3rd or after. Much love keep up the great work!

2:26 My theory on Kirk Cousins in 2024 is that he ran out of gas mid-season. He was fairly effective until then. He tore his Achilles in the middle of the 2023 season which had to affect his conditioning. Every player who has done an Achilles, and I speak from personal experience, does better the SECOND year back, Grant Delpit for example. I would sign him and wouldn't look back. Draft a couple QB prospects in the 2nd and 6th and go into the season in better shape than 2024.

Cooper Rush. He's reliable, he protects the ball and he can be had on a two year deal for 5-6 million--waaaay cheaper than Cousins, Darnold or Wilson And there's no surprise or bitterness when we draft someone next year to sit behind him.
@shsltrash820Күн бұрын
I would put cooper rush higher up the list tbh. Overall 9-5 win loss record, 12 touchdowns and 5 picks this year. he’s a solid game manager who keeps the ball safe. You can plug him into your system and he can execute. Hes not flashy, he’s not impressive, but he can get the job done. If the teams good enough he can win you some games. And that’s all the browns really need. The biggest weakness we had this year was Watson unable to get the ball to his weapons, and Winston’s interceptions, neither are something cooper rush is particularly known for having an issue with. If you can play good defense and run the ball, rush can distribute the ball to the playmakers adequately. He won’t be good enough for the browns to compete in the Super Bowl, but unless you’re actively trying to tank he’s honestly not any worse than any other option tbh. Has a better resume as a backup/spot starter than most of the other hand me down qbs out there right now.

I think Jimmy Garoppolo has always gotten too much hate and could be a nice buy low. He's always moved the ball very well his 8.2 yards per pass attempt is 3rd all time, his passer rating is 10th all time and his 43-21 record is great. Him or Kirk Cousins would be my choice if we go free agent route. Also for your young guys' rankings I also think Mac Jones gets too much hate too. I think he fits the Stefanski system well I think his floor is high quality backup and his ceiling is Kirk Cousins.
@jahsoul35711 сағат бұрын
Jimmy G hasn't really gotten hate. It's just more know and understand that he benefitted more by coaching and what was around him than the inverse. The reason why a lot of QB discussions in the Browns situation is "bad," is because the questions is never asked. "What would any of these QBs done as a member of the 2024 Browns?" How can you be an upgrade when your situation wasn't the same? Majority of the quarterbacks would probably fall flat running Dorsey's system, behind that O-line, with no run game, and the defense giving up big plays. If you bring up "Stefanski's system," that shows that coaching was a bigger issue than folks want to admit because Winston has been top 5 in play-action passing since being drafted (better than Cousins, Goff, Darnold, Mahomes Geno, Burrow, Allen, Baker, etc.) and Zappe is pretty good in play-action too, based on what he did in NE.
@JordTheeNord10 сағат бұрын
@@jahsoul357 Jimmy getting the matra of 'carried by a great situation not that good' sounds earily similar to Jared Goff when he first got traded to the Lions. Not saying he's going to become Jared Goff but we're not looking for Jared Goff just someone to hold down the fort next year or two. Jimmy's career was derailed due to injuries more than anything. If you are a pocket qb who excels at play action I think this is a decent situation for you. Jerry Jeudy looked great at times and Stefanski even had Jameis looking great for a while (frankly he shouldn't have gotten benched for DTR or Zappe but we're tanking so I guess it's fine). Stefanski is on the hot seat next year but I think his system not working for bums like Watson and DTR is understandable.
@jahsoul35710 сағат бұрын
@@JordTheeNord Here is the thing; the Lions have one of the best O-lines in the NFL, Aman-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams are his primary receivers, Sam LaPorta is his TE, and he is handing the ball off to David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs with one of the best offensive minds in the NFL drawing and calling up plays. Goff is most definitely being carried. I'm not saying it like it is a bad thing because all successful QBs in the NFL benefit from it. With Jimmy, injuries played a part in his time with the 49ers but with the Raiders, he was just flat out bad. I believe that if yall actually ran Stefanski's offense this season, it actually would have went a lot differently. Yall ran that Dorsey/Stef hybrid mess that was built for DW4. Does DW4 perform better if Dorsey was actually calling plays for him? The world will never know but Winston wasn't a scheme fit for that and when Watson went down, instead of going back to what he does, he handed off playcalling to Dorsey. That whole situation just never made sense, especially when you consider that Winston is all-time elite at play-action and Zappe was really good at it as well.
@JordTheeNord10 сағат бұрын
@@jahsoul357 Agreed last year was a complete trainwreck on offense and Stefanski gets one year to prove that without Watson's stank looming over the teams he can get them competitive again. Yeah that Raiders year was pretty bad for Garoppolo but I don't think that is who he is now I think he can improve on those numbers in the right system. My biggest worry is that Garoppolo is someone you don't want throwing 40 times a game and now that Chubb may never be the same player and this offensive line has regressed it may not work out but I could make that argument for most of these free agent qbs. They wouldn't be free agents if they could carry games on their back.
@jahsoul3579 сағат бұрын
@@JordTheeNord Honestly, the only QB that I trust to throw 40 times a game is Drew Brees (LOL), and more often than not, him passing that many times meant our team was jacked up in one way or another. Most of those seasons were .500 or below. I'm a firm believer of a balanced offense benefitting the QB. The problem yall ran into was Dorsey and the run game. His pass game was great but because yall couldn't run the ball, passing became way too predictable. With the Rees announcement, it will be interesting.

I would also watch what happens with Brock Purdy in San Francisco, who comps favorably to former Browns and NFL MVP, Brian Sipe because the 49ers may try to move him before the draft. I believe Jaxon Dart has the best long term upside of all the QB's in this class and be had in the late 2nd or 3rd round.

OK Q, new plan as of halftime of monday night game!!! Browns trade 2nd over-all pick and a third round 2nd pick and Greg Newsome to Tennessee for thier 1st overall, because Titans know what your up to you have to add a cornerback, then trade that first over-all to Dallas for thier first (12th) and second round (44th) picks and Dak Prescott. So Shadeur can play with his Dad when Deion becomes the new HC of the Cowboys only if the Cowboys draft Shadeur.... That leaves us with Cowboys first rounde (12th), 2 seconds (Ours 34th and Cowboys 44th) and I think we still have one 3rd rounder from Buffalo (Amari Cooper trade) and all the rest of ours plus an extra 5th and a couple extra 6th rounders. We take best player or Colorado reciever/DB or Carter (if available) in first and in second address needs, then Cam Skataboo in 3rd and Hope Will Howard lasts till 4th round. Even if that's the first year, it places him in Tier 2 and couple more seasons like it makes him easily a top 5, Tier 1 QB, especially since he's only 27 YO. I'd roll the dice on him over anyone else available this year including Ward, Sanders, and the McCarthy. And if we could get him for $30 Million, and could find the room, given his fluidity in Minnesota's Stefanski-esque offense, I'd say it would be criminal of Berry to not jump on that option.
