Carly turned his advances down with his obsessiveness only till season 2, in Season 3 she even dated and shared kisses with him and they broke up on the basis that if they found out in the future that they'd really want to date for real and the circumstances weren't as confusing, they'll go for it and Freddie was genuinely willing to wait to have his love with her and not possibly take advantage of her at that period. Just because Sam acclaimed to like him yet continued abusing and demeaning him when he tried to date her doesn't mean he'd end up with her, Sam always knew till the end that Freddie still loved Carly and would always choose Carly over her without a second thought. He broke up with Sam after literally admitting to each other that they were just forcing their whole romance and were better off just usual as love-hate Frenemies that argued like SIBLINGS even and that was the rightest decision they made. All the actors confirmed that end-game in the natural progress of things was always going to be Carly with Freddie since years ago, their kiss in the last episode of the original foreshadowed that. Like I said, wake up from your fantasy.
