When a book translates to screen it's got to be due to great actors, the chemistry is there, a natural relationship, it's good to see them so comfortable together, lots of couples don't have this closeness, thanks for the great show. Yes, the sofa is very small, Sam is a big man, and they are all squished together. But look at the body language difference between the couples. Cait looks very comfortable nestled against Sam. You can tell they are used to it having played married for so many years. She looks at him often when she's talking, they give each other silent cues, and they finish each other's sentences, like couples do. She admits that they act like a married couple due their jobs and so much time spent together, and it shows here. You can tell they are quite close. But they are not together. Period. Let's all accept that for their sakes.

You couldn’t say it better. It bothers me when people say that their chemistry is gone and bla bla bla because it’s obvious still there and they have a beautiful friendship and closeness. Is nice when people can appreciate that without going to the extreme of believing they are together because it’s clear that they are not.

@@thevicarage9841 Wow, that’s crazy. No wonder why Caitriona is so private. Yeah, it’s nice to see someone that can enjoy their chemistry but also accept the fact that they are not together. People seem to either believe they have no chemistry and don’t care for each other or they are completely in love and have who knows how many children and both positions are pretty extreme in my opinion.

She is not going to reveal her private life with her husband. She wants us out of that entirely. And she's right. However, her relationship with Sam is public because they act married all the time for a show viewed by millions. That familiarity bleeds over even though they have definite boundaries. You'll notice, behind the scenes, they break immediately after a love scene. That honors her marriage. I doubt that she'll have the kind of relationship she has with Sam outside of her marriage ever again. This is unique and they'll always be in each other's lives.

Robert the Bruce! you got that right. It was bad enough what happened to Jamie in season one. I didnt watch it but I had read the book so I knew it was coming. Why would anyone write something so perverted, sadistic,and horrific, something that he still has nightmares about, even to the last book. Now they want to do it to him again. In the book it called for Bree to be the victim, but I was watching one of these clips of an interviewer and he said they were thinking about swapping Jamie for Bree in that scenario. If that happens, I am gone. Why does it always have to be Jamie. Makes me worry about the way her mind works. ( Diana G). And there are more of the same throughout the series. Ive read the books ..Disgusting

@@channym3849 That's why I don't like her at all.. Diana Gabaldon is a satistic women. Good God almighty she writes a lot of the scripts for the Outlander series. So she has her sadistic influence in all the Episodes. Poor Sam/Jamie. It never ends for him. Sam needs to get in to a different TV series. I hope he does. But he won't have to wait long because I think Starz will be changing books & going with Diana Gabaldon Lord John Gray book series. She wrote 4 books on Lord John Gray. The Starz Directors love David Berry the actor better then Sam Heughan. So I think Sam knows it's a matter of time & he won't be part of the Outlander TV series anymore. I hope they loose a lot of viewers of the show. I hate them all except for Meral Davies one of the Producers of the Starz series who liked Sam very much. She is the only one who spoke very kindly of Sam.

@miss jen He needs to concentrate on his career first. He's finally gotten to a good place with his acting. He's got his whole life ahead of him. I've always felt that people in that profession should avoid personal or serious relationships. Dating, yes have a great time, but keep it at that at least,until you get to where you want to be .As for Sam he has so many projects going on, don't know how he does it, a serious relationship will only hinder him, and the fact of the matter is, that one or the other will suffer, when your walking that thin line(your personal life or your career), only you can decide what's more important to you .

I love the casting, don't get me wrong... but Claire and Brie have the wrong coloured eyes and it really bugs me because she can't really be Jamie's daughter... Jamie and Claire in the show both have blue eyes and Brie has brownish :( Claire is supposed to have whiskey coloured eyes, and Brie have blue exactly like Jamie's.

@@robertthebruce7805 while I do find that Ms Gabaldon occasionally overindulges with description of violence and gore (not just rape), I can't help but wonder, if you hated her book so much (I assume you didn't read more than one, since you didn't like it), why did you watch the TV show based on the book? As for me, while I disliked the scenes of torture and rape intensely, I understand why they were necessary narrative-wise, that's why I continued to watch the show. I read reviews by some rape survivors who found the show therapeutic and healing. There are 2 powerful messages here: 1. The survivors are no less worthy than other people. Bad things can happen to anyone, no matter how courageous and strong. 2. As soul-destroying and traumatic as their experience can be, it is possible to survive and overcome, with help. The trauma can never be forgotten, but it is possible to enjoy life again despite of it. Hence the title of the episode, "To Ransom a Man's Soul". Although I do think that the theme was handled much better in the show than in the book. That's one of the reasons why I like the show more.
