This is so true. I'm a former morbidly obese, depressed and suicidal 340 lb teenager, that lost over 160 lbs, and today I'm a ripped 175 lb young adult. The thing is people dont want to do the work necessary to look attractive and presentable. I lost my 160lbs in about 2 years, my secret you ask? There was no secret. Consistent cardio sessions between 30-60 minutes, weight lifting sessions, and most important being a calorie deficit for 2 years. Add 1-2 gallons of water a day, cut out all the sugar from your diet, and like magic, you will transform your body and mind, guaranteed.

Lifting weights and exercising in general is good both for your physical and psychological health but life makes no sense if you don't have friends to do something fun or to feel normal like other people. Yeah you can be some time without friends but you can't go for much long without friends and having some little social life, even if it's just 1 friend that you see 1 time/month. No matter what you do to keep yourself distracted, hobbies or work, if you don't have friends to hang out and enjoy life, nothing will make any sense. Oh wow I have earned so much money... now what, traveling alone? Oh wow so fun, maybe the first couple of times that you do things alone are fun but not always.

You only need one or a few genuine friends/family who accept you-even as a burden. The rest orbit your work and circumstance. Maintaining relationships with orbiters requires a transfer of value, without which you're perceived as a drain. Physical health boosts looks, social presence, confidence and sexual ability, so prioritising it adds immediate value to your shallow interactions. All of those things are essential to improving your life and those around you too. People who love you prefer you in shape and physically capable, not a fat liability.

Better to withdraw from it than to play their kindergarten game of mAn HoLd DoOr OpEn, WoMaN sAy ThAnKoO. It's all fucked up by design - all living beings are made to be born, suffer, and die. Life's default state of experience is agony, so realizing this, one can either *try to* adhere to the natural model by putting in work to please it, or, people who are really fucked, find some job that doesn't require much social interaction and develop a tolerance to the pain of being alone / whatever hurts. Yeah, if you're almost 'all there' and then start working out, your life may improve 5-10%, but if you're someone with internal wires crossed, then unfortunately you're better off in the 'don't bother' bin. Finding a hobby, productive or not is paramount - once you realize you're made up of fucking bacteria and eukaryotic cells, and everyone you love / hate is as well, you realize just how meaningless and stupid your 'worrying about this and that' is. Play a game of Madlibs with yourself and write the most incoherent shit in each space, and ultimately that is about the degree of sense that anything in this world makes. Write a black metal masterpiece and never release it

Dude i was fat since childhood and in my mid 20s i was working out everyday, learned boxing and kenpo, and eating right.. iwas a 6'3" fat bearded slob who no one talked too plus i was a weeb.. Well, one day, the cute asian girl at the japanese bookstore who i saw for years didn't recognize me now, bulky arms, big shoulders, slim waistline, and my 2xl anime shirt with holes i always wore as a fat weeb.. and we struck a conversation about my favorite anime and got her number.. That hurt my feelings to the core, and im usually numb to insults, but some cute chick i had a major crush on found me attractive for the first time and actually found me interesting and funny..it was insulting.. i was finding myself jealous and envious at the man i saw in the mirror.. even though it took some serious hard work ,training and mental suffering. My felt self on the inside saw a guy who always took away girls from me.. it was a crazy mind fuck..

If you can be happy alone you'll never be unhappy. All social anxiety is rooted in expectations connected to yourself and others. You expect things to go bad in a social situation, and you've tied to that, unconsciously, an expectation that the situation should work to your favour, and you have to act to make it work. Both expectations cause your anxiety. Stop expecting things.

Get strong, get muscular. The dedication it takes to build muscle will change every aspect of your life, and it's one of the most addicting changes you can make. hes speaking the truth. i i once got so upset that a girl turned me down and literally im embarassed to say this but i watched an anime called masamunes revenge an anime about a guy gettign rejected for being fat so he lost weight and wanted revenge on the girl that turned her down(i used to watch anime now im sobber and dont even watch anything anymore) i watched my calories and went to the gym. few months afterwards women literally i meet on the street wanted my number. iwas so shy because it never happend to me before but the feeling was amazing i politely declined. they said they know i was shy so they left it on a piece of paper that i can get if i wanted to. the other starngers was staring a hole in me if i was gonna pick it up so i didnt out of embarassment. point being i felt something ive never felt before i got more confident and people started to like me more for no particular reason even tho i dont speak much unless im spoken too. i also feel alot better since i dont gasp for air every 5 seconds. its amazing how my few hours of sacrifice daily and being disciplined with my food( tho im kinda sad about not being able to eat as much as i want to) changed my life. people say working out doesnt cure or at least help in depression has never tried it before. its hard to explain unless youve never tried it. i recommend everyone to take this advice from sam its life changing and it does increase your confidence too. i never got back or tried revenge on the girl who said no to me though. i just got over her and im currently living ahappy life with my girlfriend thats been living wiht me for over 3 years.

Good advice about losing weight. It is a sad reality that were all so superficial, but a reality none the less. A woman can literally do anything she wants for free if she just achieves "good looking". A man is not a woman but it still works on some sort of fractional level the same way.

I get so much more respect from people as a short cut hair short tight facial hair man as I ever did with a grizzly man beard and long hair. Being tall also helps and wearing nice clothes as in clean clothes that look well together when worn as an outfit.

I truly LOVE how these guys are asking questions about 1- girls or 2- Success or 3 happyness. Things that guy clearly doesn't have (Sam didn't have success in his field so far, and the click is ticking). They truly deserves their nickname the "lost boys" ^^

As someone who's had undiagnosed ADHD for most of my life this hits hard. My life up until diagnosis was just constant seeking of Dopamine. ADHD means you go for immediate reward over long term goals every time. The future was kinda non-existent in my mind. Now I'm medicated and holy shit... Getting things done actually feels good? Mundane tasks are just, easy to do? Now that I actually have the proper amount of dopamine, I don't have to seek it all the time. It used to rule my life

Weights don't even have to be weights, it can be your own body. Muscles won't care.

Stimulants mate. Energy drinks, coffee, tea, whatever. Pop one right as your shift ends and you'll be able to get some exercise in, sure it's not 100% healthy but it's way healthier than being sedantary. Also since you're working a lot, don't work too hard in the gym. You're probably not getting a full 8 hours of sleep so your recovery won't be very good. Strain, but don't strain too hard.

Saying "happiness will come when I achieve X" is like threatening your emotions. Do as you're told! And when! You are always looking in the sky, waiting for a specific cloud to show up that you saw 5 years ago. The real reason you do things has nothing to do with happiness- it is just compulsion, like the compulsion to stay alive.
