Pathologizing isn't helpful in the long run bro. it makes it worse to fight something in yourself and it wont resolve the issue, no matter how much you think the thing inside you is bad. It has a purpose, it's just not helpful anymore. That voice comes from a part of you that, (at a young age), was most likely trying to protect you from a situation you didn't have the ability to protect yourself from. Therapy is hit and miss by model, by therapist and by therapeutic relationship fit. and good chance it could take decades. IFS, is free, can do it yourself without a therapist. It's not a complicated model - There are 2 parts: 1. a young part that couldn't handle a situation and carries the pain that resulted. 2. a protective part that arose to deal with the situation. And there is the Self, (capital S ), that is you and is able to heal it all. The process to get to know the parts and show them You are able to help the young part that has been pushed away. It's an alchemical process in the end, where the young part can let go of the pain it endured and along with the protective part that no longer has to do that job can return to their natural roles inside you, like maybe - the protector becomes inner strength and the young part creativity
