For those who don't know, Sam's dad is Robert Reich, the former Labor Secretary and progressive activist with his own KZbin channel that Sam occasionally shows up in, so Sam comes from a pretty liberal family. Casting Sam as some nutty right-wing Rupert Murdoch-style conservative demagogue media mogul, this skit is basically designed to have Sam gut-bursting. Well done writers, well done.
@jedinxf7

I had idea, but you left out acclaimed economist, and honestly "former labor secretary" doesn't do justice to one of the most respected cabinet members of the last century. not exaggerating; and it's very rare for a cabinet member other than secstate, the AG, or in worse times secdef to have that sort of lasting legacy in the mind of the public (at least, of the informed public).

I think the struggle is not to think of conservative statements in general, but to think of conservative statements that won't get you cancelled. Like, it's easy to come up with something overtly racist like "black people should be slaves again" but it's hard to come up with subtle conservative statements such as "the only woman I respect is the Statue of Liberty"

Biggest difference between left and right: The right won't even hear the left's point of view, so they only ever fight straw men in order to "win" their "arguments". The left hears the right's point of view but can't quite be sure that people unironically hold beliefs that are that stupid and are still worrying about straw-menning someone.

Rice being flavorful is not a hot take, Sam. It's an Asian take. Rice is delicious. Ask any Asian, the first spoonful (or chopstick-full) of rice after an extended Western diet tastes delightfully sweet, and even better when served with something savory or saucy that'll get absorbed by the rice.
