Don't believe the male gossip lies from Sam'strains.
He"s very wrong about a lot of stuff.
He doesn't check his information before he speaks and doesn't hire an editor.
Don't believe the lies.

STOP yourself before you comment. We are stopping the abuse at SAM'S level. You're not going to add abuse after his website. SAM STARTED THE ABUSE AND IT STOPS at his website. You don't get to do any antisocial behaviour here. You not get to add more horrible comments or judgements. YOU'RE TERRIBLE AT JUDGEMENTS AND YOU'RE NOT WELCOME TO POST ANY JUDGEMENTS ABOUT ANY TOPIC! You DON'T GO STRAIGHT INTO JUDGEMENTS. You're not hired as a judge. If you post any judgements, you go onto SAM'S 1st level attack website or your own website, and you post there. You're trespassing on my property and you're getting BANNED FOR LIFE. Sam started his attack. You're not allowed to start a 2nd attack. You didn't do anything! You have NO business here! You're not capable of starting a conversation. You FAILED to make a judgement. Without a conversation, you're not doing any judgements. If you click thumbs 👍 to more attacks, after sam's attacks on Hornby, then those comments are removed and permanent bans for life are imposed, if I decide it warranted more punishment. Your crazy views have been stopped ✋️ You LOST years ago. You should tell your doctor your problems you have with the internet before you get yourself on the authorities watch list. You've never been hired as a judge. You've no business here.

I mean this purely with caring intentions, but are you okay buddy? People are allowed to make their own judgements on things, we live in a society built on free speech. This is his personal review and the ratings are just his opinions. If you disagree with his reviews, that’s okay. It’s your opinion. But what isn’t great is being rude and sending hate to a creator for expressing their opinions. Hope you have a damn good day, buddy. - Dav Naps

I'm sitting on the fence on this one, but I will say that I too do model railway item reviews and most of the time I haven't a clue at what I am looking at (lol!). I just like trains, and models of them, and give my honest opinion based on what I am seeing in front of me when I am recording. But, I'd be delighted if you were to roast one of my videos too because I'd love to learn how to get better at it. It is just a hobby for me though

That's interesting. Sometimes we need some editing or push back so we can fine tune our lives before we pass away. My city and country is wasting lives and I see most of my life opportunities have mostly been squandered. Partly because of me and mostly because of other people in power. Simulations and connecting to the Internet are giving us a lot of knowledge very fast. You're doing multiple jobs these days, with less corrections. There had to be some kind of push back against the millions of unedited content flooding the world Internet library.

I get what you are meaning/saying. And even Sam has videos on this, he's doesn't have the model rail line, because he's not a huge model rail line person. He is though a collector of the model locomotive companies. And he's had others do these sorts of videos that he's watched and plenty of comments etc. And he's asked some people how many Bachmann model locomotives do they have and they might reply with 30! Which for the avg personb with the model rail line, would be a lot of locomotives. However he has around 600 Bachmann locomotives in his collection, all up after his last collection count video, he's around 6,000+ model locomotives. Though that's what happens when buying the models for 10+ years straight. If he buys a model locomotive and it doesn't work correctly or isn't made very well he isn't going to keep it around it or fix it up. As he has 100s and i think he's got over 1000 Hornby locomotives, to use whenever.

Generrally when some review a newly released model of any prototype locomotive its classes, it would be a reasonable assumption that the individual has a reasonable to very good to great knowledge and understanding of trains(actuals)and the models based on the actual locomotives and rolling stock. I, however are not sure if Sam the reviewer in this case in the video being reviewed, has the knowledge of the trains and related models. My point is, if you want to review newly released products in the hobby of trains, please make sure you do your homework as much as possible. Because some one will come across it and call you out as the gentleman analysing Sams video has done. The train hobby is already plagued with issues (building and selling) here in SA, not sure about UK and the States and other countries. If im not mistaken , the reviewer was called out on some one elses platform too at some stage. But we dont need reviews as we as train modellers are already familiar with actual prototype locos and rolling stock

@@Gma7788 no problem. In SA where i am, a good few guys are attempting to salvage the hobby by producing models of reasonable quality to good and high quality to give the model train group here "workable" pieces. The High end models are produced using professionally molded parts and chassis' of models and really take their time to do a proper job of it, thus the customer pays the justified high end price knowing this fact and they enjoy the models and its function to hearts content. The flip side of this is where some individuals use modern tech like laser scanning, laser cutting, vaccume forming or other thermo plastics and resins to make these models assemble the articles. In fairness here too, some succeed to produce good quality at reasonable price, yet the remainder of the group, if any, just drags long, effort leaves much to be desired for, in the end we sit with models that will give Sam reason to vent frustration. There is 1 luxury train that may only be made by 1 individual authorised by owners of the chartered train to do it and sell it. No one else is allowed as the train is under copy right protection. So i bought a model from the 1st group mentioned, never looked back model, still great use from it

An interesting POV - we are all entitled to our POV, of course. Sadly with the current level of PsyOp, especially since late 2019/early 2020, A.I etc, hidden business relationships, people serving more than one - hidden - master, shilling etc, plus tail wagging the dog advertisers (yes thats happening in the msm and our model railway magazines, even in some society magazines too), getting to the truth is nigh on impossible. If we are talking about people's livelihoods? Whilst Ive the upmost respect for the Chinese people (I've Chinese friends, whove escaped that regime, some of whom were at Tiananmen Square), perhaps both You Tubers are missing something? The majority of manufacturing in China overseen by the CCP, the CCP act like a protection racket. The CCP have a terrible human rights record AND are infiltrating huge swaths of western governments and manufacturing, plus our societies/culture in general. The art of war and war through commerce, thats MORE important than a 3 pole vs a 5 pole motor, is it not? 🇨🇳🇨🇳 Perhaps we should all consider whether its ethical or not to buy our models from the CCP?!!🤕🤔🤔💔 I've written papers and procedures (and had such accepted and implemented) on ethics in business (buying and selling), and I have to say these are VERY troubling times, with shareholder capitalism and worse, WEF, stakeholder capitalism ruling the roost via big business and their proxy puppets, our governments.💔🤕☹️ Hornby often loose their way - and Oxford arent as pure as the driven snow either. Bachmann et al were avoiding supporting warranties hiding behind sales by "unauthorised" dealers at toy and train fairs, knowing full well that they (Bachmann) were making profits from the grey market box/product shifters and shifting product (the punters not able to identify whom an authorised trader was with Bachmann refusing to state or list such - then if there was a warranty claim, said punter looses out). Dapol have their issues too re pricing, warranty issues and how they treat small suppliers - who last time I looked hadnt had a margin allowance increase for nearly 20 years (thats from the three or four main manufacturers). Thus small model shops make less margin than toy shops! So in the UK many have closed. And dont get me started about Heljan and their shenanigans - awful! I make these statements as an ex student of business and a retired businessman, with friends in the trade, and my knowing reps, magazine editors, manufacturers et al. When I wrote, carefully, but factually about these issues online, and in magazines (because of my concern for this wonderful hobby), some 6 or so years ago, I was "cancelled", now that practice is wide spread in public life, anyone dare mention the truth? They get shut down as "meh conspiracy theorists". It was the same with some skilled modellers, who were also excellent writers and engineers - all cancelled if they spoke out. None of us should blindly support the manufacturers until such times as they fully support us AND the smaller retailers. The manufacturers are not gods and they are NOT whiter than white 💔☹️🤕

I thank you for your video sir, in our industry Sam's trains is an equivalent of a journalist and has a large audience but still needs to be scrutinised for errors or biases. Sam does often knock modern mechanisms for being simple, simple mechanisms can be good for the model, with fewer parts to replace / lose and a low manufacturing cost, I believe you have a good point on this as long as the locomotive runs well. As far as I recall you are correct about 5 pole motors running slower, I have locomotives with both and I haven't noticed much difference but to be transparent I focus on shunting operations as opposed to running anything at higher speeds. I think the motors are a matter of opinion really as to what you wish to do on your layout and which type could benefit you. Having worked with some electronics previously I was unsure whether there are serious differences between smd and through pin components, I have done some research and it appears they should act practically identically, even being made from the same die oftentimes. After all why claim a 100 ohm resistor if it doesn't really have that effect, likewise with capacitors. This would improve locomotive repairability and free space but increase production cost. The only time through hole may be preferable would be in conditions of environmental stress such as defence where their physical form would allow them to deal better.

What a strange video. Everybody makes mistakes, myself, Sam and yourself included - people hate on Sam but I think he's entertaining, informative, and creative - making his own locos from scratch something to be applauded. Sam is so popular because he rightly scrutinises new models against eachother (and lets face it, new Hornby stuff is crap - I would never buy their newer stuff) but he recognises the enjoyment that model trains can provide too. At the end of the day, does it all matter? We're all allowed to have our own tastes, buy what we want, run what we want on our layouts - if someone wants to run Stephenson's rocket with some Freightliner Triang Hornby wagons, you can't send them to jail can you.
