Hi! I'm the creator of this mod. Thanks a ton for playing it! My fiancee loves your videos so we were hoping that you would play it. I've been extremely happy with the positive reception that Samael has gotten, but I can also see where the issues are. My attempt at making the Wraith Meter charge up consistently pretty much failed, as there's a bunch of things that charge it way too fast. We've been mulling over some ideas for how to better implement it, and I think we've got a decent idea. I also plan to fix some bugs, maybe consider adding a couple new synergies. However, I've been pretty busy with university since its the end of the term, but I think I'll have some time next week to work on Samael, so maybe there'll be a patch in a week or so?

Ghostbroster I imagine you based the charge on damage dealt? perhaps change it per hit or per kill instead. or make it cost a heart to use to prevent spam, or base the charge on damage taken to promote risky play. it's an awesome concept though. Never tried modding this game, so I don't know how difficult it would be, but a cool synergy with brimstone would be a spining attack that sends multiple brimstone across the screen with a very long charge. other idea to balance is to throw the sythe out like boomerang for range so you can't mele until it comes back.

I have a suggestion to make the Wraith Meter less OP. Here's my suggestion:Can only use it once per room, preventing you from going ham on tough bosses.

Well, technically, Tainted Samson is copying Samael’s passive if you ask the timeline. And so is the Forgotten!

The scythe increases in size with your range stat. Also, to me the one thing this character needs is adjustment on Wraith form (Left Shift). Some fights allow him to get it way too fast thus making Samael invincible. It needs to be harder to achieve Wraith form. He needs that damage though, because without higher damage a Melee Character will just suffer and die quickly in Binding of Isaac

The range ups were causing your scythe to grow hutts, and the wraith mode charge was getting activated by contact familiars, who do a bunch of dps

Didn't see this, so I figured I'd comment... your recharge for the Hush and Delirium fights went up so quickly was due to Gemini being in range for the contact damage along with your swings, the orbital/familiar contact damage ticks really fast.

Looks like the scythe-size increases with Range. It got a lot bigger after you got Mom's Heels. You can really see it with 3 Dollar Bill. When you get the Number One effect, the scythe is small again, then it gets bigger with other effects.

I HAVE A BACKSTORY! Isaac (as people will know if they watch game theory) dies in the basement , and Samaels story is that he is the grim reaper and he needs to collect isaacs soul so he can have a peaceful life in the afterlife , this explains why Samael cuts Isaacs head off in the cathedral , but to reach Isaac he needs to go in to the hatch to do so !! ManyHU Isaac died due to asphyxiation in a chest. The Game Theory did the theory before Delirium was released. Ed even confirmed that Delirium was Isaac’s death itself

I would say that Isaac imagines Samael as a pawn of God (Since he thinks that god is evil) coming to kill him which is why Samael has a unique animation for Isaac and only Isaac. Samael is a fan made character so technically Samael is technically non-canon.

The way the scythe works is more range=bigger scythe so like the worm trinkets make him op asf more dmg makes your projectile bigger and you can keep charging it even after its blinking for more damage

I think the best way to balance this character would be to make the attack a lot faster with a lot less damage, so you hit quick, but have to hit a lot. Also the invincibility power charges way too quickly. It looks like it's effectively a two or three room charge (though it's hard to tell with the editing), but it's clearly too OP for Hush and D. Doubling - even tripling - the charge time would make it more reasonable.
