Great video from one of my favourite places on the planet. Yes, the Buchaill is a honey-pot shot, but so worth it! Next time, get up into the hidden glen.

Thanks Alan, yes definitely, it looks stunning up there! It's on my (increasingly long) list of places to get to with the tent! S

Lovely shots esp of Loch Tulla Sam. I went there in March after visiting Kilchurn (the herras fencing was there then too!) and really liked those pine trees and the rest of the scenery. Rannoch Moor and the Loch ba area is wonderful. I'm due in Fort William in October and staying in Glencoe next March so will look to reshoot some of those and get up above the Glen more like you did. Unfortunately when I was there the A82 was being closed at 8pm for resurfacing so had to get back to my campsite before it was shut so could not stay for sunset. Keep up the good work,

Thank you Steve, and sorry you weren't able to make the climb on your visit. There's so much to explore around there, we certainly only scratched the surface on our visit and I'll definitely be heading back again at some point (It's only a few hours away for me). I think either autumn or March as you suggest though are the best times to visit, preferably when there's a dusting of snow as well! S

You came away with some wonderful moody images from one of my favourite locations. I think I did a similar hike up from Altnafeadh with the view looking down the Glen. It is an amazing view but not easy to convey the grandeur in one photograph (that just gives me an excuse to keep returning).
@BosePhotography2 жыл бұрын
It's a pretty special place, but you're right, it's so hard to capture the grandeur in an image! That was something we discussed quite a bit on this trip, and a good excuse to keep going back! S

Thanks Greg! Yes, that was a cuckoo, there's quite a lot around at the moment, we have one on the hill up behind the house but I haven't seen it yet (I saw a few near Sheildaig last year though). S

There are some great landscape photographers on KZbin, Sam and I think you are up there with the best of them. Some fantastic images again. I like the way you are so relaxed about it all and explain everything so well. Keep it up👍👍👍

Another great video and some amazing shots Sam! Such an incredible location and what terrific moody conditions you had. When I saw the image at 8:03 - I immediately thought of a Constable painting. The composition, the light and texture are terrific! Well done - keep up the good work!

Hi to you both, first let me congratulate you both on taking the plunge and doing what your heart felt was right for the both of you, I'm hoping that you will both be very happy in your endeavors and the photography journey that you've started, I'm a old photographer who immigrated bact to Barbados in the mid 80's, I was.brought up in London, and having watched the intro and the 2 Glencoe videos, I honestly hope that things works out for you guys, Sam your images are stunning, stunning because as you rightly said Glencoe have been shot to death and to actually come up with some quite different images of the same location is testament to your eye awareness and your photographic style...All that's left for me to say now that I will be subscribing to the channel and looking forward to some of Hannah's work now...please keep informed about the situation as you progress with the d.i.y might be interested in some b&b when I get to come up to Scotland, implanting to be in London July 2024...for some vacation, that's all for now from Barbados...looking forward to the next video,happy shooting.

Hi Leo, thank you very much for your message, I really appreciate it! I've been to Barbados a few times, but unfortunately, long before I took up photography, so would love to head back there someday with a camera! Unfortunately, we've had to abandon the plans to open up the B&B for the timebeing (we ended up hitting a too much 'red tape'!) but other than that, the move has definitely been the best thing we've ever done and we're absolutely loving it here! It does mean that I have less time to put together videos than I'd hoped as I'm now back to full-time work, but I have a few unedited videos I haven't got around to editing yet so hopefully we should have some more content coming soon! Thank you very much for subscribing! S

Love the fact you didn't go for the obvious central trees/island on the first few images. Works so well the way you shot it.

Thank you very much Tristian, it was definitely worth spending a bit of time wandering around before taking the camera out at that location! There were plenty of other images that could have been taken there too if we'd had more time. S

Nice work as always Sam. You sure looked liked you were having a good time. I grew up just down the road from Kilchurn Castle so I know it well. It's always worth shooting the classic locations like Kilchurn and Glencoe. Sometimes you just need to experience them for yourself even if 10,000 photographers have been there before you. :-)

Thanks Julian, I completely agree! There's a reason these places are so popular, and it is mainly just that they are so spectacular! S

Images of the loch and the scotch pines were fantastic. The castle photo was nice but you may have pushed it bit too much. Another wonderful video Sam.
@BosePhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matt, yeah, I really wasn't happy with that castle image to be honest and struggled to get it in a 'presentable' state, but had to include it for the narrative of the video. S

Fantastic Sam ! What beautiful places there are in Glencoe area ! Question about the look of your pictures. They have a real moody look with moody colours. Is it a whitebalance preference or do you something with the colours ? Maybe you can do a video how you post processed for example the Rannoch Moor picture ?? Thanks
@BosePhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Marcel, I tend not to do anything with the colours, but usually set the white balance around 5500K, which is normally most natural looking. I also darkened the sky in Lightroom in most of these images, which adds to the 'moodiness' - this can be easily done on most images now in Lightroom using the 'select sky' filter and then dropping the exposure by about half a stop. I will try and make another post-processing video soon, I did one here though that shows my general workflow: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHuykIOLl7Bgi9k

OMG you pushed the texture on the castle too much
@BosePhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ken, yeah I really didn't like that castle image to be honest! I spent ages trying to make it 'semi-acceptable' to put it in the video as I needed to include it, but wasn't happy with it! To be honest, the conditions were rubbish for photographing it and I wasn't feeling the image at all. S
