I love that you don't blare the music so we can't hear you narrating. The choice of music is also relative to the type of area and building you are exploring. Classical is always the best. Very calming and relaxing while I get tense seeing what you're going to run into. Great job Sam and Jesse.

I love when you can see the history of the building through the architecture and also looking and or reading from material owned and left behind. Just like the building being abandoned, all the belongings have been abandoned and do not belong to anyone or they would have been removed. If the state owns it, they are not interested in getting money from old pieces left behind. It costs the bank too much money to put old broken pieces on the market for sale. Wouldn't even be enough to pay a years worth of taxes. This comment goes to the person who criticized you for looking at personal items. That's how we learn history and how people lived. As long as urban explorers don't STEAL anything, I think it's educational and fun to learn about who the residents were.

Absolutely! Keep thinking I'm gonna get frustrated because, "oh no shes not gonna look at that thing I wanna see..." and then she looks at it. 😊 Except for once, I think on first floor. She stops to look at an interesting thing near the floor at the left side of a fireplace. But there was a curious, broken purple thing in a vase behind. Old, ratty umbrella? And how cool were some of the dates they found! Wow! But that one magazine from 1903, not even yellowed. That was trippy!

The wooden form in the attic (inexplicably with a light in it) was made to hold bricks in place while an arch was constructed. It has a name I can't recall. SWEET abode y'all got! Big change from the hostile hotels you've experienced in months past. lol In watching a yt page that deals with mansion families on the brink of loss through damage and ill income compared to castles and their liabilities/obligations through the family lines to upkeep and share their collections with the public a few things come to mind. 1. I never want to be born with that extent of obligation. Some "child" (around mid-teens) gets sent out in the world in "tour" to learn about art and artifacts. Names for styles, artists in demand, where to acquire them and how to spot a fake. What is valuable and what is just pretty and much more. They are expected to bring back treasures from their tour obligation to add to the collection of the family mansion/castle. 2. Having weddings on the grounds as an income is a really bad idea. The music echos for MILES! lmafo Noise abatement is an issue with the sprawling acreage. 3. Roof and window upkeep are CRUCIAL! Also I did learn the secret doors were for staff to restock the fireplaces and assorted whatnot to not be seen. They're like secret elves. lol Most castle/mansion owners are cash poor. They MUST entice to the public to come visit and depend quite a bit on garden vegetable growing for purchase and cattle rearing in addition to having a forested area for assorted hunting for a fee. An average castle needs 250,000 pounds a year just for operating costs. As you travel to abandoned castles/mansions now I understand how and why they were abandoned with such luxurious items left behind. Either their wasn't enough lineage to finance the upkeep, wars and disease wiped out many of the lineage and tradition is becoming a rarity due to the obligation, expense, and loss of freedom. I'm learning so much from your videos. Thanks for your work and thanks for reading.

I always have mixed feelings about these places. I respect that YOU do not steal or vandalize anything. On the other hand, I HATE to see antiques decay like that. The harmonium for example is rather rare and is sought after. Here it sits....rotting and more than likely will never be saved. What a waste!!! I wouldn't mind living there!!! I'd need a maid, butler, and a few others I think.. LOL.

These old places are worth a fortune in "parts" and sometimes shipped to the USA. The Marble or carved fireplace mantels, fixtures, sinks, tubs, stained glass, large wood beams, old floor tiles, ornate wardrobes etc. are stripped out and sold for outrageous prices! You will very rarely see "intact" abandoned places like this in the USA. Resale of "stripped" antique interiors is just too big a market in USA.
