Hey! That's my wife and I behind y'all in line at Mameya 😂 I recognized y'all but didn't want to intrude on your family time. We actually discovered Mameya and tons of other places in Tokyo through y'all's vlogs so I was telling my wife how crazy it was that y'all happened to be right there. Hope y'all had a good trip 🙂

Thanks so much for adding Victor's ratings after each coffee shop pitstop-- the scores he gives have real heft seeing that he doesn't drink any beverages available on planet Earth except coffee😆😎👍 so if anything gets a score from Victor that's above a 7.5 then I know it's a place worth seeking out on my travels. PS= Thank you for putting the mini desk top vacuum from Daiso in one of your shopping hauls-- when it was explained that it was for Victor's home coffee bar "to clean up spilt beans and coffee dust" a lightbulb went on in my head. I'm going to get one too for the exact same purpose. You're so right when you said that Japan shows you amazing things you didn't even know you wanted or needed but you instantly recognise how brilliant and suddenly very desirable these inventions are. Japan specialises in innovative practical items of great charm and aesthetic beauty. Excellent vlog, as usual, thanks so much for all your hard work.

Great vlogging of Tokyo. Thanks for mentioning your hotel. I've wanted to try out Aoyama area. I always stay at the FS, a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Station which I really like. But, I shop in both Aoyama/Omotesando area and also Ginza. It's good to know that there's also the same hotel branch in Ginza and one that is reasonable for long stays. Greetings from Los Angeles

why wasn't this up last week when I was in tokyo :') but that aside, this is actually a really great list because my one gripe about many Tokyo cafes is that I found that they mostly didn't have very comfortable seating. Either the place is too small (understandably though) so you can only stand and there's a long line out the door, or it's a place with very uncomfortable seating (so tourists/people won't sit for too long, which is also sadly understandable). So it's nice to get a video to see some of the vibes of the interior so I can plan the next trip better. Awesome vid as usual!
@SamandVictor10 ай бұрын
I never thought of the problem about space actually- maybe because in Hong Kong we also have to navigate small cafes or having to wait in line at trendy new coffee shops!
@jamieykao10 ай бұрын
@@SamandVictor but the difference in Hong Kong, at least in my opinion, there are still spaces where I’d be comfortable sitting and reading for a while. In Tokyo, I found that most spaces either encourage instagramming (so it’s busy as hell) or the seating feels intentionally uncomfortable (no back support) so then you’d have to leave soon. But it was just my observations and it could’ve been places that I visited. Higuma Doughnuts × Coffee Wrights was a good example. With exception of the table in the middle the rest of the seating wasn’t really sit and chill friendly Just my very long two cents 😅
