Күн бұрын

Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882 -1927) was an Indian professor of musicology, singer, exponent of the saraswati vina, poet, philosopher, and pioneer of the transmission of Sufism to the West. He initially came to the West as a representative of several traditions of classical Indian music, and established an order of Sufism (the Sufi Order) in London in 1914. By the time of his death in 1927, centers had been established throughout Europe and North America, and multiple volumes of his teachings had been published.
Inayat Khan's teaching emphasized the oneness of God (tawhid) and the underlying harmony of the revelations communicated by the prophets of all the world's great religions. His discourses treated such varied subjects as religion, art, music, ethics, philosophy, psychology, and health and healing.
Music: Ustad Mohi Baha'ud'din Dagar - Bhairavi
Rudra Veena
Sounds of Isha - Amla | Yoga Padhi | Meditative music | Instrumental

Read his book as part of a reading list in my metaphysics of sound classes. Omniscient he was, one true prophet. With our short attention deficit due to the overwhelming incessant bombarding of nonsense information/ disinformation, one has to come back to his/ her essence to be sound again ( In harmony) And what we call health, is everything sounding in harmony. Interdependence/ connection of all parts that constitute a being, We are the instrument that need fine tuning …Then ,all just Flows….

For anyone wishing to feel some beautiful writing about music and psychology, I highly recommend the book, The Mysticism of Sound and Music by Hazrat Inayat Khan. Whether you are an entertainer or educator or are simply looking for another way to express yourself to your students or your audience or yourself, this book is filled with beautiful language that will purify your default mode for as long as you can hold its message in the moment.

Few understand what a profound mystery music really is. Also there is music and there is sound and they are different. There are musical sounds and healing sounds and music of many types as is obvious. Susanne Langer has written deeply on music and art and culture from many perspectives and is well worth reading. I have been a musician and studying music most of my life. She is a great and insightful thinker, much recommended 🌛 Remember: everything is vibration

Og musikken er motoren. Der fikk jeg noe å tenke på. Er det noe eller noen som skaper lyden, klangen og musikken ? Dette ble litt mye for en nordmann.

Few people know that Sufi Inayat Khan was descended from the royal family of Tipu Sultan, and that his daughter Princess Noor Inayat Khan, who had grown up with music, philosophy, Sufiism and love of literature [at home in England], was a lover of peace, and a pacifist. Later, during the first world war she enlisted to work as a British intelligence agent, and was brutally murdered by the Germans. One of her pseudonyms was Nora Baker.
