I recently "found" Samantha Crain via Spotify. And I have to say she is such a brilliant songwriter and singer. It's a shame that I seem to be the only guy around who has ever heard of her. Elk City is a world class song. It's a treasure! It will always remain in my top 100 songs of all time (and I have heard many). Good luck to Samantha that she is some day honored like she deserves it.

Saw Samantha at the Cain's in Tulsa. She is such a talent and a delight in person, giving brief stories of what inspired some of the songs she writes. Treat yourself to a concert. There's a lot of substance in her music.

This is my hometown, that longhorn bar is still here lol. My parents remember that oil boom well and all the tents not only in Elk City but in other surrounding towns. I wonder why she wrote about Elk when she’s not from there?
