Honestly it's hard to translate indonesian poetical lyrics. They tend to cut some conjugations that makes the word seemingly meaningless and break grammatical rules, but at the same time sounds really beautiful. Like, "sejengkal sadar", literally "an inch of conscious". Idk how to translate that correctly without losing the essence.

tbh I agree with you, if you separate every song from the album, this version has more "earthy" feel than the song in the album. But the recording version is actually a "part" of the album, so at least we need to understand the concept of the album itself, and you may know why the recording version has more "touch", in a way that the song must be synergised with the album. If you've ever seen their recent concerts, you may not be surprised of their "album" version, because, like I said, the concept of an album plays a big role in every song.

I think this initial version should be contextualized as written in a time where they are gradually evolving from the folkish Rasuk with 'more width' in their sounds to the ambient sounds of Zaman, Zaman where, in a sense, time as space is warped, condensed - 'implosion' is a word that I believe encapsulates the latter with precision. Read their interview with Felix Dass - it explains the creative outlook while recording the latest album. Nonetheless, Zaman, Zaman is a bold move. I can imagine how frenzied their fans would be when listening to the recording version of Empati Tamako for the first time (I found myself in a similar position). For me, TTATW is less a band with a fixed identity than it is a concept that fluxes along with very piece. They do have the underlying sense of serenity in all their songs, including those in Zaman, Zaman - only this time, it is serenity infused with (paradoxically, I know) - anger. Rasuk, in my words, is serenity infused with grace. Who knows what kind of serenity would they deliver next.
