I'm totally addicted to this concert. I cannot stop playing it and dancing to it ( I wish I could find more parties where this kind of music plays). Also, this version of Goda Tungl is definitively my favourite of all. I am quiet sad that they are not together anymore, so there is no opportunity to go to a concert of them.... Really sad about it.

I like you previous KEXP show more. Góða Tungl the best number here, but Again better last time. Keep singing icelandish, it sound so cool.And why is every icelandic artist always called Björk in comments. Cant you seriously hear the difference. This really dont sound like her at all.
@omgitalo8 жыл бұрын
I agree, preferred their previous set on KEXP. I think they're giving off more Björk vibes now purely by the weird cloth they put on. :D

@carlotaantolinvallespin4716 жыл бұрын
I think people often compare Icelandic musicians to Björk because she was the first worldwide famous musician from this remote country. We don't have many other references (until now that more musicians are coming out from there), so it is natural to make this cognitive relation. Also because there are some similarities that are subtle. Perhaps it has nothing to do with the music itself but with the mystical vibes and with the sonority of the language. Very characteristic from that language that differs from other is that it comes from and to the inside of the body. It is like fairy whispering. But definitely Björk is wilder and louder and playing more with cacophony.
@polki8025 жыл бұрын
Totally agree - it's lazy thinking. Jófríður doesn't sound like Bjork. Aurora doesn't sound like Bjork, and any number of pagan Icelandic / Scandinavian stuff doesn't sound like Bjork but it all get's bundled - even the Sugarcubes don't sound like "BJORK" as we think of her (maybe even Bjork doesn't sound like Bjork given that she's always changing and bless her for that). Jófríður's beautiful voice draws me closer to EARLY Clannad (not the later commercial stuff) but there's a big dub / ambient dub element (I'm thinking the mighty Zion Train here - perhaps more relevant to the first KEXP set?) so even that isn't a real comparison. Why compare? This is them. It is wonderful. End of story. All else is meaningless

to all those Bjork comments i think she has no resemblence to bjork other than her voice...the music is completly different its just she sound the same bec of the icelandic language i think ...I mean i dont think that girl meant it to sound simliar....her vocal cords are exactly the same as bjork i think thats why this band sound the same....

Ugh, I've only tripped a few hundred times and never had a bad experience. Maybe I'm at a disadvantage here because I was usually surrounded by sagebrush or Joshua Trees instead of volcanos and massive but short waterfalls, but this music makes me feel like I'm trapped in an elevator connected with a gas mask to a 75 pound tank of nitrous oxide, and I'm stuck in there with a biorobotic river nymph that just lost a fight with a roll of gossamer in a fabric store. She keeps attempting to communicate with me monosyllabically, while repeatedly holding up both her arms to show me they're broken. I'm having my first bad trip, ever.
