No offense to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, but if a friend of mine told me “I have just 10 days of vacation, which of the four countries should I visit?”, most-most probably (depending on my friend’s interests), my answer would be “Uzbekistan”. Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva have been the highlights for me in this four-month trip. I’d say Kazakhstan is awesome if you are in the mood to rent a car and just… drive, for hours, alone or with good company, just drive, not see another car for hours, just you, the flat terrain and the blue sky, “lose yourself” in the immense… emptiness of Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan is ideal for trekking lovers, particularly the area around lake Issyk-Kul is a trekker’s paradise, especially if you can combine it with staying at yurts. As for Tajikistan, this is just my third day in Dushanbe, I have liked everything I’ve seen thus far, but… risking a “verdict”, yeah, if someone asked me “where should I go? Just 10 days”, the answer looks self-evident to me, Uzbekistan. Very well-shot video, as always. And hey, great that you had your husband to share that awesome room. :-):-):-) I’m so desperate for a biiit of “luxury” that I’m considering spending 35-40 euros for a single night, having spent the last 100 days at - very nice, but still - hostels. 🙂 Sorry for the long comment!

@@SyifaAdriana I think the biggest difference is there were fewer people when I visited, but that's the same for everywhere I guess. I did go in the middle of summer, the heat doesn't bother me. I remember it was definitely hard work for vegans and vegetarians; hopefully that's changed a bit. The best thing I did was to climb to the top of the Ulugh Beg Minaret in Samarkand for an amazing view at sunrise. Not sure if you can still do that.

Excellent vlog on -Samarkhand and Bukhara - the two most famous and very well preserved cities from the middle ages - also symbol of Beauty, Peace and centre of knowledge. I believe you know that the very famous Iranian poet Hafiz of that period wrote a poem where he had wanted to give Samarkand and Bukhara for the 'Beauty Spot' on the cheek of his lover !

Fabulous Iranian/Persian architecture reflects on those UNESCO heritage madrasas and minarets. By the way, the hotel in which you guys stayed is marvellous, so is the silk road tea house.

All these buildings in Samarkand and Bukhara were built in the 14th-15th to 19th centuries by the Turkic dynasties that ruled these lands, the Timurids, Sheibanids, Ashtarkhanids and Mangyts are all Turks and it has nothing to do with the Persians.

Lots of personal family obligations. Actual travel filming and editing takes a lot of time. I think people don't realize how much time it actually takes to produce travel video when we don't actually have a team with us. Have you done this travel filming and editing yourself?

Yes, the Silk Road spans from Northwest China (Xi'an), passed through The Caucasus, The Middle East and Central Asia. This travel guide is a good read too! www.amazon.com/Insight-Guides-Silk-Road/dp/1786715937

Halo Mbak Syifa, mau tanya dong: 1. Untuk pembelian ticket kereta api kl mau ambil rute Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara harus online in advance atau bisa lsg on the spot di station? 2.

In 1924, the Tajik Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was established as part of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1929, it became an independent republic and was renamed the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic (Tajik SSR, Таджикская ССР). However, the predominantly ethnically Tajik cities of Samarkand and Bukhara remained within the Uzbek SSR.

Before Soviet union and Russian envasion, Here in central asia there were 3 countries. Bukhara emirate, Kokand khanligi, Khorazm khonligi. all the leaders of these countires were turkic. So don't call them tajic cities. So do not spread here wrong information. Enjoy with what you have. You better speak about your king how he treat your nation rather stuffing your nose to the busness of another country
