Meet Professional Samba Dancing Professional Bianca Fernandes, one of Rio´s Top Passistas ( Professional Samba Dancer), winner of Charm Category. You will see not only the brilliant samba dance routine of a true RIo de Janeiro Passista ( name give to elite samba dancer in Brazil ), but an interview as well. Let´s learn a bit more about Bianca Fernandes:
Bianca Fernandes is 33 years old, married and mother, and was born in Rio. Since a kid, she always loved to dance: She started as many in dancers in Brazil with ballet classes. Later, she went on to learn contemporary jazz, Zumba and a bit of the “Rio Funk” Style dance.
She officially entered an elite samba-school after being approved in an audition for the Passistas Section (samba dance team) of Unidos da Tijuca, 4 times winner of the Rio de Janeiro Elite Carnival League. She immediately felt passionate for the carnival atmosphere and samba dance. Bianca has a degree in Management and works in a bank. She loves to travel, to go to the Rio beaches, and watch movies with her family and daughter. She also has great have great fun attending the samba dance and percussion rehearsals of Unidos da Tijuca.
