Thank you very much for the lessons that you have uploaded on youtube. I am so glad that by chance, I came across your lessons (Slow Foxtrot, Jive, Chacha and this one, Samba). Although, I already learned those steps in a dance studio located not in UK. I found your lessons to be very very clear and they are helping me to improve my dance and also it does for my dancing partner.

Thank you for this clip! My partner and I are new to samba and are trying to put together a little demo, and you've given us a lot of great material to pull from here. :)

Since you want to call what you are teaching samba, would you mind to give some explanations for the use of this word? What do you understand by this word? Do you know the african origin of it, and the history of its developments in rio de janeiro jornals, to refer to poor class parties? Also, whats the elements that makes it a version or at least a new approach or account of samba? What is the contribution or the relation to real samba music and culture? In your teaching is there any study about brazilian-afro origins and the demands of samba swing? Or you just teach whatever without further explanations and without care to who are you fooling? Its really curious to see how easy people think it is to be called a "teacher" or a authority of something thanks the self-indulgence of international ballroom culture and their institutionalized ignorance. "when the foundation is fragile, the house will fall"

I know you commented a while ago but I just wanted to say that nowhere in the video did he say he was teaching Brazilian samba. This is a video on international dancesport samba. There are two dance styles under the name of samba and just because samba originated in Brazil doesn't make the ballroom style incorrect. Ballroom samba was merely inspired by Brazilian samba and doesn't contain all the same elements- so unless you're a ballroom instructor like this guy you don't have the right to poke at whether or not he knows what he's talking about.

Samba de Gafieira is first of all not an imitation. As we all know Samba originated in Brazil meaning that ballroom version is the imitation. I don't mean I don't like that version, it's just that as a Brazilian I would much rather do the Brazilian version, in my opinion that is the prettiest and most original. As for your proof that Brazilians will never learn the ballroom version I just want to say that we master the original version as well as anything else they throw at us. We love to dance and many of us know many different types of dance so I'm sure some of us can master that version as well.

Says who? An American? OK

I don't think you understand the difference between the Brazilian samba and the cheap copy of it that other countries insist on calling samba.

Samba is Brazilian! Obviously you guys have stolen it from us!!! learn your facts before you start an argument.
