Homemade Sambar Podi / Sambar Powder is a very handy ingredient for any South Indian Kitchen. We use Sambar powder to make Sambar and also we use it as a spice powder for many poriyal varieties.
Rasam Powder is a key ingredient for the Rasam which gives the spice, flavor and taste to the Rasam. Home made Rasam Powder is always fresh and aroma rich than the store bought powder.

Ingredients for Sambar Powder:
2 cup Red Chili 1 cup = 250 ml
1 cup Coriander seeds
¼ cup Split Bengal Gram (Channa Dal / Kadalaparuppu)
¼ cup Toor Dal (Pigeon pea)
½ tbsp Fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp Jeera
1 tbsp Peppercorns
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
Ingredients for Rasam Powder:
2 cups Red Chili 1 cup = 250 ml
1 cup Coriander Seeds
1/2 cup Toor Dal (Pigeon pea)
1 tsp Peppercorns
1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
Ingredients for making 1Kg+ Sambar Powder
Red Chili - 500g
Coriander Seeds - 400g
Toor Dal - 200g
Bengal Gram - 200g
Fenugreek seeds - 25g
Pepper - 25g
Cumin - 25g
Turmeric - 5g
