On august 2023 Stéphane Lambiel and Guillaume Cizeron performed on the ice of Stéphane Lambiel´s skating school in Champery, Switzerland, an impressive and totally innovative form of skating improvising on a choreography of Khoudia Touré, a modern ballet choreographer, mixing contemporary dance with figure skating.
This is not the first time that Stéphane presents a same gender figure skating program. He started with Johnny Wear, but he skated the fist time a two male figure skating piece with Deniss Vasiljevs in Art On Ice show. He did it too with Shoma Uno.
But with Guillaume he goes even further by introducing improvisation for 2 with a creative ice skating program.
Guillaume Cizeron is a French ice dancer who retired from competition after winning the 2022 Olympic gold medal with his partner Gabriella Papadakis.
He is the ideal partner for Stéphane who basically does not belong to the same category as Guillaume, but we know Stéphane's skill as a dancer who, as we can see, easily adapts to ice dancing, and that at the age 38 years old, showing that he still has a lot to say and still has the form and the technical level to do so, which is exceptional at this age.
So no jumps or spins for Stéphane, but a splendid range of movements of an overwhelming aesthetic which unfold with fluidity between the two Olympic medalists who present their first attempt, very conclusive, an attempt which will be followed by others according to their words.
They are in the process of opening a new chapter for figure skating, making this sport evolve into a new form of skating where Art completely sublimates technique.
My editing is a completely personal interpretation of their program based on what this choreography has awakened in me, as well as the text which in no way claims to replace what the artists wanted to express. (The text is written and spoken in French which is my native language.)
The characteristic of Visual Art is to be semiologically open, and the spectator receives it in a perfectly subjective way, otherwise it would not be Art.
I look forward to their next proposal which I am sure will match their talent.

I wrote a love story that talks about the difficulty of loving and the ambiguity of feelings between two human beings which sometimes generates more suffering than happiness, but it is often the price to pay when you love passionately.
Credit to @OnIcePerspective, the skating of these two giants of the ice awakens in me a powerfull emotion that I tried to translate with this humble "artistic text".
