Powerful song Sam. Everyone has a War story. My Dad had a bunch. I always sat and listened when he told them. Now that he is gone, I would give anything to hear them one more time. Mom said it took years and years to dim those War memories...and lots of talk.

This reminds me so much of images of WWI, but also of Sebastian Faulks' novel about it, "Birdsong", and the guys who would channel deep underground to plant explosives to blow up the enemy. Sam's song says doing so was "the only time he felt alive". Me? I'm claustrophobic. Just two nights ago I had a nightmare about it, albeit in a totally different context but still... I absolutely could not imagine anything WORSE. But a wonderful job Sam, song and images both. xx
