I used to live with some Polish people. They told me that Soviet Russia invaded from the East at the same time Germany invaded from the West, and what nobody talks about is that all the Poles fled towards the Germans and away from the Soviets.
@m1812Z10 ай бұрын
They didn't invade at the same time; Germany invaded some 2 weeks prior to the USSR, and 90% of fighting occurred on the German-Polish front. Many many more Poles died under German occupation (both due to starvation and directly being murdered by the German occupiers) than under Soviet occupation. The Polish government-in-exile also never declared war on the Soviet Union. The Poles mostly fled west because they were fleeing to France and due to the fact that most of the Polish population were quite conservative and knew that they would at least face political repression in the USSR if they were politically active.

In Nazi Germany, the Aryan certificate/passport (German: Ariernachweis) was a document which certified that a person was a member of the "Aryan race" as they called it. Beginning in April 1933, it was required from all employees and officials in the public sector, including education, according to the Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service. It was also a primary requirement to become a Reich citizen for those who were of German or related blood (Aryan) and wanted to become Reich citizens after the Nuremberg Laws were passed in 1935. A "Swede or an Englishman, a Frenchman or Czech, a Pole or Italian" was considered to be related, that is, "Aryan". The Czechs and Poles are Slavs. The Slavs are one of the ethnolinguistic sub-groups of Indo-Europeans (or Aryans as the Nazis called them) just like the Germanic, Celtic, Baltic and Latin people are. Also the German people themselves as an ethnic group have some Slavic DNA. Because before the 10th century when Germans came about as an ethnic group, substantial parts of what is now eastern Germany were inhabited by Slavs who were conquered by the Saxons and other Germanic tribes and absorbed over time.

It is surely officially admitted that in 1935, a Pole would have been considered an Aryan. 1935 which is also the date of death of Pilsudski, who was very respected by Hitler, Poland had a peace treaty with Germany. however we cannot afford to have a Manichean view of the situation, the national socialist doctrine on the racial point of view has changed over time, Poland ended up becoming an enemy of Germany as we do We know, and the facts are there, the Poles were clearly treated as subhuman beings, proportionally Poland was perhaps one of the most violent nations of the entire Second World War. we know that nearly 5.9 million Poles died, the majority of them during the German occupation, we know that Hans Frank himself declared that the Poles were inferior, we know that certain regions which were annexed to the German Reich (and not to the general government) practiced radical ethnic cleansing by stealing and displacing hundreds of thousands of people like in Warthegau (630,000 people forcibly displaced) but especially in certain cases tens of thousands of non-Jewish Poles sent to concentration camps or cases of villages pillaged with gang rape. Poland actually experienced a civilizational genocide, all representatives of Polish culture or intellectuals were massacred, young people were forced to have a mediocre education and to submit to the Germans, millions of Poles were subjected to forced labor , the Poles were on average undernourished. Moreover, other ethnic cleansing such as the ethnic cleansing of Zamosc are very representative of the situation (116,000 people displaced or sent to camps including 30,000 children). Moreover, certain generals have denounced war crimes in Poland, notably a certain Johannes Blaskowitz. Hans Frank even said "I have nothing against the extermination of this Slavic crowd" the massacres in Warsaw in August 1944 are also interesting to take into account since 100,000 Poles died in less than a month and that this was in no way justified, but after all it was Himmler's order, right? this is where the Dirlewanger brigade was deployed, we can also cite the school massacre with nearly 350 children massacred for example.

@casehughes-me5ln11 ай бұрын
@@freckleheckler6311 well this in no way justifies Germany's genocidal war crimes against the Polish population, moreover it is obvious that the invasion of Poland by Germany in 1939 is not linked to this, because the Germany could very well have stopped the "violence against the German populations" under their territory, in fact diplomatic pressure would have been more than sufficient for this: the French as well as the British wanted to avoid a war against Germany: Neville Chamberlain had even proposed to Germany that if it withdrew its forces at the start of the invasion of Poland, the allies would act as if nothing had happened. even Lord Halifax proposed this in the House of Commons: The truth is that with the Molotov Ribbentrop Pact the Germans did not think that the Allies were going to declare war with Germany for fear of Soviet intervention, this is not what happened since the French also wanted to make war against the Soviet Union, the French Minister of War Édouard Daladier even proposed to send an expeditionary force to Murmansk, others proposed to bomb Baku . Hitler did not want a war against the British Empire, he certainly offered peace on several occasions to England but that in no way justifies Germany's criminal and genocidal doctrine. Hitler invaded Poland to have direct access to the Soviet Union and above all Hitler thought that the allies were not going to declare war, even David Irving said it: "Hitler wanted to carry out a small war but it degenerated" at the start This is true but Hitler subsequently wanted to carry out a gigantic confrontation with the Soviet Union but this included destroying French power in Europe.

Worth remembering that Bohemia-Moravia had been part of the First Reich and was part of the German Confederation, prior to German unity. Therefore the annexation of that territory in March 1939 was perfectly justified and another logical step in Hitler's wish to unite all Germans. The fact that the Czechs had their own language and culture does not change that; one only has to look at Wales and Scotland as parts of Britain that are not English, but that, until recently, was never considered an issue in British unity.

Great video, but it does seem like some important parts are being left out. Like you stated, focusing on what actually happened should take front-seat rather than speculations about potential outcomes. While I do agree with many parts in the video, the number of dead in Poland was staggering. While he might not have actually seen them as truly inferior, but rather as European brethren, and while they did recruit from many countries including Slavic people, the fact remains that millions of Polish civilians died. If you have rebuttals to this I would love to hear it, good work.

Ok bro, now speak about the Einzatsgruppen, the Hunger Plan and the extermination of all Jews in Crimea.
@claudecarlyle92845 ай бұрын
Zoomer seemingly doesn't believe that Lebensraum played any role at all as a guiding principle in the foreign policy of Nazi Germany - in mind-boggling contradiction to everything they wrote and did (Zoomer is suggesting it was purely a pre-emptively defensive war against communism and to even liberate the Slavs, which makes little sense as I'll discuss) - nor in the existence of Generalplan Ost in spite of the involvement of Himmler: notes recovered after the war and later testimony from SS officials recount discussions with Himmler regarding GPO, most crucially a memorandum from Erhard Wetzel. Hilariously, Zoomer quotes this document but only the proposal of sterilising Russians, as if to intimate that while not great doesn't quite represent a policy of genocide, but completely leaves out the part that discusses the planned deportation of 50% of Czechs and 80% of Poles to Siberia to be ethnically cleansed (where they would be used as slave labour before starving and perishing). Zoomer also ignores the 1941 Guidelines for the Conduct of the Troops in Russia, the Hunger Plan (Goering, Rosenberg), the Sonderfahndungsbuch Polen, or Hitler and Keitel both making orders to the effect that war crimes against Russians among officers should not be prosecuted and can be excused. Moreover, reports discovered after the war in addition to later testimony from officials describe conversations with Hitler - for example, a note from Borman dated October 1940 recounts Hitler discussing the extermination of "Polish landowners" and "intelligentsia" and calling for "no mixing of Polish and German blood", and for the living conditions of Poles to be kept as "low as possible" and men and women kept separate while making accommodations for a small contingency of unskilled agricultural labour, and summarised that Hitler viewed the Poles dismally as indolent and submissive. (This was a recurring topic of conversation with Hitler as has been evidenced in hundreds of memoranda, not just later testimony from Nazi officials.) Hitler's attitude towards Poland is curious since Poland was arguably the only nation to have defeated the USSR in significant military engagement, and was characterised at the time by fervent nationalism, anti-Communism, and a cult-of-personality surrounding national hero Pilsudski who was slightly notorious for suppression and contempt for leftists. So Hitler partitioning Poland with the COMMUNIST SUPERPOWER so he could mollify Russia in order to avenge the first WW - achieved by watching France's humiliated heads of state sign an armistice in the Compiegne Wagon - is more emblematic of Hitler's character than Zoomer's confused rendering of him as a Darwinian realist tempered by a Pan-Europeanism with a dash of enlightened humanism. Zoomer using Leon Degrelle (a Belgian collaborator, not a high-ranking official, not even an official member) to gauge Hitler's attitudes towards Russians is extraordinarily deceptive, akin to using Benito "race is a feeling" Mussolini to assume his attitudes on race and Js, in spite of everything he actually wrote, said, and DID - or what "My Loyal Himmler" wrote, said, did, etc. Zoomer is completely ignoring Heydrich and his remit for the Einsatzgruppen, the propaganda campaigns which literally cast the Slavs as Untermensch coupled with the strange SS policy of kidnapping "Aryan-like" children, while keeping the "undesirable" Slavs under their occupation in dismal ghetto conditions and subject to violence and forced labour, or the treatment of Soviet POWs (admittedly, the German POWs were treated with brutality and disregard for life by the Soviets, but Zoomer is ignoring who initiated this and the background). He's neglecting the history of anti-Slavic sentiment among German military elites - the Septemberprogramm is not to be taken as official government policy and I don't think it was a likely or even feasible outcome of the first WW even if Britain had stayed neutral and Germany had triumphed. Nevertheless, it reflects ideas that pervaded a segment of the German elite. Hitler - believing that Eastern Europe was ruled by J-Bol and therefore ruled over Slavs - deduced that it proved Slavic inferiority, and provided justification for the philosophy of Lebensraum. Being the oddball he was, he turned it up to 11. Zoomer says that citing MenKaf is not appropriate but that's convenient since Hitler wrote an entire chapter with statements to the effect of "Slavs can not be Germanised but soil beneath them can" and that Germany had a right to colonise those areas according to natural law - and even claimed that any period of functioning statecraft in the history of Russia and its "vassal states" was always and solely the result of the Germanic element in the Slavic race. Finally, Zoomer is also just plainly evading what actually transpired: in Czechoslovakia, 400,000 Czechs were deported into forced labour operations, nationalist intellectuals and cultural figureheads were arrested and/or enslaved and/or murdered, with clear policies to erase Czech culture and language, etc. - never mind the deaths of several million Eastern European civilians, the deaths of 2 million ethnic Poles and another 2.5 million (at least) ethnic Russian POWs.

Kudos to you for not deleting my comment from before. But your repeated attempts to somehow turn the Polish into the villains of the war is deeply, deeply disturbing. It is beyond clear to me that you have read nothing, or next to nothing, about Polish history or Polish politics prior to the war. There was *no mainstream political movement* in Poland to annex Pomerania, East Prussia, East Brandenburg or Silesia!!! Fringe radicals like the National Radical Camp wanted to annex small portions of Mazuria and Lower Silesia, but these were in no way the majority. Even extreme nationalists such as Roman Dmowski after WW1 acknowledged these territories were ethnically and culturally German (at the time). What you're thinking of was called the Piast idea, and it was thought of as nonsense. The ONLY person to support it was Joseph Stalin. And pretending like Poles participated in some "genocide" with the Soviets as their "new allies"? The Poles HATED the Soviets. Yes, there were some traitors, but there were traitors in EVERY nation. Many of Germany's own officers would go on to collaborate behind the new Iron Curtain. "And the lands were given to Poles." No, they were not. They were FORCED upon Poles who had been *deported by Stalin* from the pre-1939 Polish borders in the East. Major cities like Lwow (Lviv) and Wilno (Vilnius) *were* Polish-built cities, with a Polish majority. Stalin didn't want that, so any remaining Poles in those areas were sent to the seized German land against their will. To replace the Poles, Byelorussians and Ukrainians were sent from areas that Stalin wanted to be dominated by ethnic Russians. You not stating this fact not only implies my own people were the problem, but it shows how little you understand about what Stalin wanted and what his own plans were besides "Bolshevism communism socialism". I don't doubt that you are knowledgeable in German affairs. But you really need to study and look into Eastern European history more.

Most of those documentaries make you think as if poles just appeared after ww1 and had some revanshionistic beef with the germans for no reason while in reality various discriminatory anti-german policies in 2RP were made only to reverse the effects of germanisation.

Germany killed or enslaved millions of Poles, Russians and Ukrainians during the war. No doubt the barbarity was on both sides and largely explained by the war itself. But there’s both a history of German colonization and attempts at pushing German political hegemony east (the treaty of Brest-Litovsk being the high water mark)… Hitler didn’t come up with that himself. It’s fair to assume that a German victory would have resulted in European Russia being broken into a number of German dependencies.

How could you say post war Poland's poles worked side by side with the Russians? Polish history sees what happened as an occupational government which by 1944 they had formally begun fighting back. If the new government was ridding areas of Germans they were doing the same to Poles. They began the removal of every element of a traditional Polish history/society and anything else was to fall under the idea it was all an extension of the Russian sphere. Every system in Poland was redirected to convert the county on mass to a Russian vassal state like they have been trying to do since the formation of Muscovy and its expansion since then. Most commissars were communist's who most likely rejected even there own heritage and many poles who served in the government had allegiance's outside of the being just an ethnic Pole. On its face everything in here makes sense but by condensing polish people to just being "poles" leaves a bad taste by overlooking everything that preceded this simple request for a railway(Partition Poland - 1920's) all the way up to "poles and Russians" ethnically removing Germans. Still great content keep it up. I understand you cant just make a video covering every thing but lets affiliate the ruling party and there goons to the correct groups i.e Communist Poles/Polish-Jews and the Russian/Soviet minority(Georgian, Chechen and etc.) authorities

It seems most work put the most horrifying ideas and pack them into one as if the Reich was a single person. Lots of approved content made by people with certain views e.g. TNO; these things are fun to think about, but we must know that they are fictional and not reflective of reality.

From your knowledge of Hitler, what do you think he would say of modern Russia and putin. Do you think he'd support the ukraine war? Russia is an ally of isreal so I want to know what your thoughts on this are.
@ZoomerHistorian Жыл бұрын
The geopolitical situation is entirely different so it’s hard to say, he’d certainly prefer Putin to other leaders today as he was never opposed to Russian nationalism, especially given the fact that the Russian border is further east these days. And I’m not sure where you’re getting Israel being Russia’s ally from, that isn’t true and Israel is supplying aid to Ukraine

@@ZoomerHistorian I could be wrong but in my opinion I think its highly unlikely Hitler would prefer Putin, Hitler would either probably be neutral or otherwise prefer Ukraine. Firstly, I understand the Third Reich signed the Prague Manifesto to help people in Russia, so, assuming the translation is accurate, its true the Third Reich planned to help people in Russia as I haven't found any laws passed in the 1940s that contradict this, as we haven't found the original documents of Generalplan Ost, so no one knows what Generalplan Ost was actually about. The document for the Prague Agreement can be found on the website "Electronic Library of Historical Documents" in Russian "Электронная библиотека исторических документов". The page for the document of the Prague agreement on this website is titled "Манифест Комитета освобождения народов России. г. Прага, 14 ноября 1944 г." in English "Manifesto of the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia. Prague, November 14, 1944" I can't post the link directly on here because otherwise the comment doesn't get through. What we have to remember is Putin praises Stalin and is pro soviet, he is allowing mass immigration of non-whites into Russia. Genuine Russian nationalists are against Putin and form groups like the Russian Volunteer Corps who have joined to fight on the side of Ukraine. If you want to see more interesting information on the Ukraine conflict at present I recommend the videos "A study on Russian Propaganda" two videos in two parts on the odysee channel titled "Johnny's Ghost".
@alexwoodrow260 Жыл бұрын
@@ZoomerHistorian I will further add there is a video on you tube called "Росіяни ЗАСЕЛЯЮТЬ азіатами Маріуполь та Мелітополь. Наплив емігрантів ШАЛЕНИЙ" in English is translated as "Russians POPULATE Mariupol and Melitopol with Asians. Influx of emigrants". This shows Putin is replacing white people in Mariupol with non-whites from central Asia. This is the sort of thing the third reich warned people about that the kremlin would do to Europe. I wouldn't trust anyone that is experienced in leadership positions in the dissident right that defend Putin, just my opinion though. It is up for others to make their own minds up.

Victor Suvorov wrote a couple books about the eastern campaign. Icebreaker is one of them, the other I can't remember at the moment. There are also a couple much newer books on the subject with more information found from the old Soviet trophy archives.

zoomer what is your opinion on Vladimir Putin saying poland started world war 2 on his interview with tucker carlson
@yevgenyleontyev11 ай бұрын
He did not say that, listen to it in Russian, then caption, then translate. He said Poland was happy annexing part of Czechoslovakia following the Munich agreement in 1938, where everyone in Western Europe was OK giving Germany Czechia. Poland suddenly became unhappy when the same happened to it following the German-Soviet invasion in September 1939.

To answer your question to whether he did hate the Slavs and Easter Europeans or not. I site page 123 paragraph 8 of Mein Kampf and I quote "The longer I lived in this city, the more my hatred grew for the foreign mixtures of people" This was from his visit to the Habsburg state he specifically mention Jews twice and then Czechs, Poles, Hungarians, Ruthenians, serbs and croats. Which are all Eastern European I don't know how you can justify or even question if he hated these people when it states in HIS BOOK that HE HATED Eastern Earuopeans.
@StefanR-h1l3 ай бұрын
He hated THE MIXTURE OF PEOPLE- that’s what that quote says ; and it’s even more direct in German . He mentions Slavs 8x in mein Kampf - mostly as victims of Bolshevism. His most „vile“ quote is that the Slavic people hadn’t proven their ability to hold up a high cultural state - that’s it . Pure hatred ! Lmao
@limeon84263 ай бұрын
@@StefanR-h1l So what your saying, is he hated them just not for the reason I said. Which still shows he hated the slavs. Also saying he hated the mixture of people, is pretty damning. Why would he have a problem with Slavs living with and interacting with Germans? If he didn't hate the Slavs?
@StefanR-h1l3 ай бұрын
@@limeon8426 he never ever stated that he hates the Slavs - that’s something you project into his words . He - rightfully - stated that a multi - ethnical state is heading for disaster. Is that hate ? If I don’t want my nations capital look like , let’s say 2024 Berlin is that hate ? If a Pole doesn’t want Warsaw to look like Istanbul is that hate ? No , it’s a healthy love for your own.
@limeon84263 ай бұрын
@@StefanR-h1lIm sorry rightfully? There's nothing wrong with a state made up of different ethnicities. And what do you mean by the different capitals. His distain for the mixing of cultures, and purposely mentioning every Slavic race saying how they brought down, that part of Germany, does show that he hated them.
@StefanR-h1l3 ай бұрын
@@limeon8426 yes rightfully, especially at that time . I despise my nations capital as it’s a mixture of everything with my people being the minority. That doesn’t mean I hate Arabs / Africans . In the 20s the Allies treated Africans like animals - that’s hatred .
