If you take into consideration everything he's done, his reputation as one of the top indy veterans, and his stint in NXT lasting 2-3 years, he's pretty young and still has a lot more to offer. Most with his list of accolades would've been well in their thirties.
@mr.anonymous60336 жыл бұрын
BryanTalks I really don't think that's that impressive. Brock was WWE champion by 22 and Drew was Intercontinental champion by 24 despite coming from Scotland. Sure he's a top indy guy to a certain group of fans, but I don't find him that great. Sure he has all the basic physicality down.but beyond that he's got no clue, trying to work like Vader with he's about 5'6''.

BryanTalks Well, its really impressive. Because, he's making a name for himself at 29. He's done so much without the WWE Brand. Its sad, how people dont appreciate people that work in the independents scene. But, they have their lips so far up WWE'S ass.

Honestly, I don't know how he would have ever fit into their system. He's a terrific worker, so it's not that he's inferior, but it wasn't a good fit. I'm glad he figured it out, and they never gave him false hope resulting in many wasted years. Who knows how much time Ty Dillinger is going to waste before moving on. All and all, it's a good story for Sami.

drew galloway is the shits his match with roode was pathetic and boring galloway was a joke in TNA also and was average at best and bringing him back to NXT shows that wwe dont think highly of him atall i think he will stay on NXT forever(being a former main roster talent tipped by vince also) you would think wwe would bring him straight to main roster but thank god they still see him as a joke currently and keep him in NXT to learn because hes learned nothing since he left wwe the first time lol

Well if he's not signed to a promition he is an independent wrestler, but people do call anyone out of WWE an indie wrestler even if they are signed.
@seymourglass267 жыл бұрын
"Indie" just means independent. It's not, and shouldn't be a dirty word. This is true for both independent contractors (wrestlers) and the companies that book them. WWE has shareholders and is a corporation. It has a ton of baggage in terms of its first-and-foremost existence as a business. For this reason, NJPW is also not an indie, since it's owned by a media corporation. Even LU is owned by a major corporation, but has just signed contracts with various entities to be produced and distributed and shown. They are semi-indie wrestling, but more because of the talent contracts and schedule, not their business. And it's some of the most fun I have each week. And Cody Rhodes is an incredible, true "indie" wrestler doing work all over the world like the stud he is.
@zachf37887 жыл бұрын
seymourglass26 Rhodes is probably the best success story of a wrestler being released from WWE. He brings clout with his name and lineage wherever he goes and he currently holds the ROH Title without being signed last i checked. Like he's gone from being misused by WWE to being one of the worlds biggest wrestler in a very short time, and should he ever return to Vince will likely go to the main event near instantly
@ThornOfSociety7 жыл бұрын
I don't see it as a bad term but I feel alot of them are okay with it until they go to WWE and I think WWE ruins the term for them as alot of the people in WWE mock indy wrestling and so it likely makes them feel crap and sullies the term for them for when they leave and go back.

After seeing some of the crazy nutty stuff this guy has done Sami seems like a really chill guy. Still absorbing information of the wrestling business and giving insight on what goes on in the back. He's right tho I did see several wrestling T shirts not backed by WWE that was selling and I think even at one point sold out in Hot Topic. Kinda wished the interview was longer.
@seymourglass267 жыл бұрын
Very good wrestler. I'm happy to see him succeed. Baron Corbin should really take his advice about learning how to be an adult who can use social media. But I do find is sad that he dislikes the term "Indie Wrestling". I know it's silly semantics, but just because it's an independent promotion doesn't mean it is rinky-dink or minor. It doesn't carry a stigma with us on the watching end. To most fans (at least from my experience) "Indie Wrestling" means smaller venues, everything if affordable, real fan interaction during matches and buying merch, close and hard-hitting action, and wrestlers who are allowed creative freedom and the ability to have fun. To me, "indie" is a good word unless I see the promotion and then decide they're not for me. "Indie labels" did amazing business in music for a spell in the early to mid 2000s. Just take the name and make it mean quality and creativity.

Solomon Crane sounds better. I don't understand why WWE has to change good names. He could've just been Sami Callahan in WWE but they didn't want him using it so that way if he gets big in WWE as Sami Callahan they don't want him going to the Indies with that same name
