Ever watch Jim Ross do commentary? He wasn't afraid of the guys in the ring, but he also accepted that he couldn't fight them or do what they do. That's what JD did here. He stood up to Sami in his own way without instigating anything. He shouldn't have to force himself to be a scared cowering commentator just because a wrestler is in his face.
