That SR10 made that Audi R8 look like a Toyota Camry going around the track. Incredible.

What’s a good track day to get into a radical or atom or something similar ?
@Tain950 Жыл бұрын
Based on how many hours of the engine time you get before having to rebuild the engine let’s me know how expensive a Radicals is in financial upkeep. The maintenance on a Radical is wildly expensive
@MrMarcusjarvey2 жыл бұрын
Much as I like the sr10, I’d have a ‘slower’ sr8 over it all day long. Have you driven an 8? My dream radical would be a titanium space framed, full carbon fibre sr3xx bodied sr8 with sr10 side pods, the 3.0l engine and noisy pipes. Mmmmm 😊 Nice video review btw - thanks for sharing
@sammooresphoto2 жыл бұрын
Oh interesting, I’ve not driven an 8, they sound so good. You’ve put some serious thought into that, i 100% rate your decision ✅

Radical definitely benefit in marketing terms from your involvement since you’re a genuine enthusiast.

I don't believe it has traction control. The TPS selector is throttle position and adjusts the amount of throttle and sensitivity. Looks like great fun!
@sammooresphoto2 жыл бұрын
You are correct, I was given duff information (or overly simplified). 1-4 are power reductions, 5-8 are less/more aggressive maps
@rodbender67782 жыл бұрын
Just to be clear....The engine hours recommended by Radical (40 hours for SR3) are NOT 'track time' as you quote... they are 'total time' with the ignition on... and included all the time warming the engine, etc. Depending on how you use the car, this can add up to quite a bit! For my car, used in short sprint racing, it amounts to about 40% 'off load running' and 60% 'load' (the equivalent to your 'track time' comment)
@sammooresphoto2 жыл бұрын
Interesting, that’s a very good point and presumably varies massively on your usage. I’m amazing it’s quite so high but I guess if the car is cold and you need to run flat out straight away it takes quite a bit of warming up. I wonder if the 40 hours includes that or you could get an extra say 20%. My car has only had one engine rebuild and that was ahead of time to upgrade to latest spec.
@MrMarcusjarvey2 жыл бұрын
One of the reasons an oil pre-heater is a good investment as you can reduce the engine-on time to get oil to operating temps. IMO if the car is properly maintained under load is more representative of required rebuild intervals - but this won’t help under a factory warranty claim!

How did you find the SR10 compare to the Revolution you drove?
@sammooresphoto2 жыл бұрын
I only drove the Revolution for about 15-20 mins so didn’t get much. It was/ setup/felt much stiffer but the main thing was it felt a bit heavier and the steering was tricky (it has assisted steering) to get used to

Atom 3.5r 636bhp per tonne , atom v8 900bhp per tonne. I saw you drove an atom a week ago so how does this compare
@sammooresphoto2 жыл бұрын
Atom punches so hard but this would skin one on a track. I didn’t get a drive unfortunately, just a ride along.
@sl0w_racer2 жыл бұрын
My best guess is this SR10 would be about 12-15s a lap quicker than the latest Atom 4 350bhp around here (Snetterton). My quickest time around there is a 2.04 on semi-slick tyres in Atom 4 but this would eat it alive. Look how quick he took Brundle (after bridge) and Nelson, if you tried to do this in an Atom or Mono etc you'd end up in the armco no doubt
