Funny you mention that...I recently made something similar to this using three 750 mW LED's in parallel. It required about three 15 ohm resistors (Capable of handling 25 Watts each). I slapped it on my motorcycle and it works great. It gets pretty hot after an hour but so far no melting or loss of brightness.

a standard battery pack or a high voltage setup with capacitors and dc-dc converter would work pretty well. Just wired up a few packs of rechargeable batteries 48-72v and use the caps to keep keep constant voltage on the backside of the converter. Will keep pretty constant voltage and let you slip a new pack in. Pretty simple if you have the know how ;) the high voltage helps keeps the draw lower and the caps wired in will boost it when wired in right.

Based on the batteries he's using and the 11 LEDs, less than 4 and a half minutes. 36 volts at 2200 mAh is 79.2 watt-hours. 1100 watts of LEDs. The math is exceedingly simple. However, the cooling system is woefully underpowered and will very quickly be overwhelmed by the 1KW+ of thermal energy being dumped into it.
