I only wish he was in acoustic drum set instead I’m not big fan of electric drums they have this delay gets my last nerve 😅. With acoustic drum this would sound a lot better

I was a lifelong DLR fan and joined a Van Halen tribute in 2016....THEN I developed a whole new respect for Sammy. His songs are a lot harder to sing. He's singing this at a way lower pitch here, given his age. This was one of my favorite tunes to perform.

I think Satch is approaching this project the correct way. Maintain the structure of the song and his part whilst putting his own flavor in the mix. Ed did the same with covers he played and that’s what made them great.

Impossible to duplicate the intricacies of Eddie's playing, he had soul, power and finesse . Satch is one of the only guitarist that can come close.

Sorry mate, but nah! Not even close. Nuno and Phil x would’ve done a better job. No disrespect to Joe, and as much as I love Joe, he’s lacking that rock and roll vibe and tone for this kinda music.

Saw Sammy in Dallas Texas in "76 or "77 and from then on, all the local music people said the same thing, "Dallas loves the Red Rocker." and we did, and do. Thanks Howard for another great interview!

Even tho king Edward isnt with us listening to that opening piano from the backing track gives me goosebumps. i imagine its the original recording down tuned so its the closest thing of Eddie you can hear now. Amazing. What a wonderful musician he was

Gifted people wrote it, even though it took a long time to put it all together, it is and always will be a legendary iconic song. To see the gifted talent that is keeping this song alive with 2 of the original members when this song was written and amazing guitarist and drummer to keep that same music thrill is a salute to Eddie and Alex, both versions of Van Halen are great in their own way and I am thankful and blessed to have been born in the early 60's and had the greatest music era to grow up in. Thanks for the awesome ride, it's still a blast even in my 60's, "KEEP ROCKING!!!" 💯✌️
