I feel for your sir. I truly do. I have been married for a little over 37 years now and I'm also 70 years old. It's almost like we're not even married. We get along, but it's not like it should be. Health issues entered into the picture in 2015 when I retired for both of us. I have a lot to be thankful for. I still have my wife. I don't know what I would do if I were divorced and I don't want one. It's lonely that is all that I can tell you. I do my best to stay positive and keep active. I'm not giving you advice. I'm just sharing.

He stopped by our county fair in rural Montana two or three years ago. He alternated with Aaron Tippin. Both were still good country singers but they seemed to have lost their motivation playing before two or thee hundred country folk in an isolated part of Montana near the Canadian border. Sammy though, he allowed himself to get kind of heavy too. But I loved his music years ago and I still do. I remembered the song "Yard Sale" vividly when I was setting in a cafe and an old couple came in and sat in the next table to me and rejoiced. They rejoiced because my ex was having a yard sale and selling all my stuff after I moved out. They had bought a late model power driven lawn mower with a catcher bag for $10. That hurt me. She never knew how to manage money. But she did OK. She hired her lawn done, trees cared for and snow plowed. And she headed off for a trip around Europe after she bought a new car. She even hired a financial planner help count her assets she acquired in the divorce. And I was 1.45 million in debt. Yes, I remembers than song well. I guess that is what good music does. It makes you remember "stuff."

Met this man a lot of years ago at the county fair I worked at as a deputy sheriff for security for him. He practically had pneumonia - the county doctor saw him and gave him antibiotics. He told the crowd we drove all this way and we have to do a show. He did, and standing less than twenty feet from him I could see he was sicker than a dog. He already had hits and he could've have cancelled. He didn't. Stand up man that cares about his fans!

The first time "Cadillac Style" aired on CMT I was hooked. Loved me some Sammy Kershaw. When he came to Bakersfield I was so excited and jumped on buying a ticket to go. He had only been out for a couple of years or so at that time. I could hardly function until the day finally came. I got there, bought an 8x10 to hopefully have signed and considering it was small club so I didn't think it would be a problem. It broke my heart when he came out, wasn't very pleasant with the fans and immediately left after the show. No signing, nothing. He. Just. Left. Within 2 yrs I had a "concert wall" with over 120 photos from the concerts I had been to, all autographed but one. Yep. I considered not putting it up because it stood out and made me sad every time I looked at it. I loved music and concerts were my favorite thing to do from the mid 90s- 2002, before I moved away, but I'll never get over how crushed I was over that.

Country music is not the same anymore but i think thats what makes the oldies even more special. Becuase of that when I hear a song like this it really brings me back to a simpler time.

I was listening to Kat Kountry 103 (California) while I was driving a few minutes ago and I recorded the last 7 seconds of the song on my cell phone and I got home and googled it and that’s how I got here.

I've never liked country music until now in my old age (I'm 47) and I've noticed that the country songs I ended up liking are usually old. I'm not really into today's country music. today was the first time I've ever heard this song and i instantly loved it but the only part about it I didn't like was that it almost made me cry ...not ashamed to admit it because I've been through something very similar with an ex girlfriend
