OK, love SAmmy Rae, but this bothered me live. The opening riff is wrong. The original chords are A- C D7(no 5th) G. 5 beats for the first A-. 3 Beats for the C. 6 For the D. She transposed it down a bit, but the pattern should be the same.

I don't think that it's got to be a carbon copy cover. It's not easy to cover Toto in any case and this is more "this is a great song" vs tribute-band action. Personally, I'd be curious how many of the Friends audience knew the original song.

if you’re gonna be super annoying at least don’t be wrong, f#- not a- and it’s 6 2 4 beats. this is an awesome tribute that doesn’t have to stay exactly true to the original, it’s still recognisable and is so so much fun to hear back and watch. people that know the song will still recognise that opening riff regardless, people who don’t will most likely love the song!

Inversions matter, too. I think its the C maj that is in the wrong inversion. Should have the C on top. Yeah, Im a nerd. Still a great cover.

Covers are open to the band's own interpretation of the original. How about just let it be that. I don't recall Toto having a sax solo either, did that also bother you?
