Playing BF2042 a fair bit atm and for me the first thing that needs to go is the bunny hoping and what needs to be reintroduced is the dipping of your gun when you jump. You only have to look at this video , its about aim not bouncing about like an arena shooter

The BFV squad points system would probably work better in a modern setting compared to the behemoths. But, you could find ways to blend the ideas together. For example using it to call in weapons/vehicles that would be too OP if they were player controlled but would work great as one-off call-ins. Similar to kill streaks in COD, or strategems in Helldivers. Think an AC130 coverage for 60 seconds, a super-heavy missile launcher, or dropping a single HE bomb on a point like the V1s.

I'd like to see them bring back the Tier system and even expand on it. For example, once you reach T1 at level 40 and get the skin, you continue to get maybe something like medals, ribbons, chevrons, etc, that are added to your skin for additional levels you reach above T1. This keeps people grinding, rather than just T1'ing something and moving on to the next thing, or losing interest all together IMO.

Would love to see mobility cut down to BC2 levels. Sliding seems cool, but when everyone is doing it as a strat, it gets old. Been enjoying the hardcore more of 2042 a lot because position is so much more important, and movement so much more risky.

I hope they put more effort into the attachment system in terms of making each of them useful as opposed to find the meta and never have to change. But I think the hottest take would be to allow dual weapon carry eg. AR+SMG. Still have different sets locked to a class loadout. Just hear me out. The main thought of doing this is that weapons are balanced for their type and range of use. An SMG should only win close range vs an AR at mid range. Forcing SMGs to say a medic class means the devs are forced to make them over perform at longer ranges just to make them viable otherwise ARs will beat them everytime. If each class had a dual carry system then each weapon can accurately be balanced to match its counter part, and it's up to the player to switch to the weapon that is needed. If your in an open area with an SMG, then that's on you. Same if you enter a QCB with an AR then it's your fault you get rinsed by an SMG. I think it would give players more choice and agency to play other classes if each has a good weapon combo to choose from, instead of this class has the meta weapon so everyone just plays that. Otherwise they'll try some weapon spread bullshit that no one will like. Based on the weapon recoil trash change they did to 2042, I have no confidence they can get that right.

The plus system is one of the most immersion breaking parts of bf5. Removes the whole thought behind picking a rifle, setting it up and playing to its strengths. Nothing like slapping on some 8x zoom one moment, then charging in with a red dot the next… I hope the plus systems disappears into the abyss

Why would I ever use anything besides one singular scope on all my rifles then? Plus allows for so much more weapon variety, because people don't have to die in order to adapt on the go. I hope Plus will forever be a part of the series, maybe in a bit more nerfed state.

Behemoths only justification for exsisting was to look awesome in a trailer. They added nothing to the game and I think in almost 2000h of BF1 I have rarely if ever seen it do anything but grind the match to a hold and make shitty players feel better about losing by patting their KDs in the last 5 minutes. Squad point system could be a fun and meaningful addition if done correctly. That means more team focused than offensive, sure you can have your big "fuck you rocket" but focus on stuff like supply drops, information denying like EMPs or smoke, or whatever. The plus system is an absolute L take. It made gun balance nigh impossible. I would be willing to compromise on swapping between 2 scopes and 2 muzzle attachments, but keep ammo and under barrel as a fixed pick otherwise you will have ARs running around with more ammo than some LMGs....

Plus system is cracked, so that definitely needs to continue being a thing moving forward. BFV squad points would also be a nice thing to implement again. Behemoths are kind of whatever; I don't really think it makes sense in a modern setting, because "bigger = better" hasn't been a mindset in any modern military since WWII ended. And even then, Hitler was really the only person that thought developing these kinds of "superweapons" had any real merit. You know what a giant tank or gunship is? A GIANT target for enemy munitions. The AC-130 is a very effective weapons platform, but a big part of that is that it was deployed against belligerents that didn't really have a way to interact with it. Against a competent opponent, that kind of weapon has very limited application.
