Now this is something that we here in the USA - with our testosterone filled NFL players - would do well to learn from. I particularly liked the fact that they all knelt in homage to Divinity and arose as brothers in arms.

True in the NFL people wear paddings and helmets but they can shoot out of literally every place, direction and angle you care to imagine. while in Rugby you either run straight or step. I myself play division 1 under 15s for Wenty Leagues, and I've tried playing NFL too. And trust me its the same as NRL/ Rugby League.

Rugby truly is the Gentleman's sport. Respect for the Captain and for the Ref, little to no aggression during the match (in terms of fighting) and at the end of each international match, its compulsory to grab a beer with the opposing team. If anyone get's a change to read "The Gentleman's Game", by the Player's Tribune, I encourage you to give it a quick read, by an All Black team member. Ruby exemplifies sportsmanship, leaving any challenges on the pitch and giving the opponents a pat on the back, picking up a player regardless of their team, not taking a dive at all and not challenging the Ref on matters of penalties, etc., the player in the wrong holding their hands up, saying "Yeah, my bad" and cracking on. I enjoy football, but it could stand to learn a lot from such sportsmanship.

This is awesome. This is how it's done....we may be competitive and foes for 80 minutes, but when the game is over and it's all said and done...regardless of what the end result may be, we should all leave with love and respect for each other intact for always. 12 years later and man....this still sends shivers down my spine. Unfortunately world rugby has let them down a country that has flooded world rugby with players all across the top tiers of the sport for years is being shoved aside by Australia and New Zealand to make way for Argentina to compete against them, two countries who's teams have had their fair share of exploiting Polynesian players over the years but then again they can't afford to give a chance to a country like Samoa,Tonga or Fiji they might get better, then their could be a chance of loosing Australian and New Zealand Polynesian kids to these country's. It was about mutual respect of the somoan culture, and the fact that many South Africans are also quite religious also meant they were easily able to join in the spirit of their prayer, relating to their own culture. Compare to say a european team, who would have found joining in such an experience more difficult to not look unnatural and awkward.

***** *****​ well I play rugby, at club level we always get together with the other team and do what these two teams just did and that was say a prayer. Religion helps keep me calm. As if you don't see players do the sign of the cross when they score a try or run out onto the field. Sonny Bill Williams prays to his God during his run out to the field. Religion plays a huge part in these guys careers.
