Samoa Bunkers (World War II Relics)

A closer look at the nine World War II era bunkers in the Samoa Dunes Recreation Area, in Humboldt County, California. Why were the bunkers built in 1942? What was stored inside? How were they constructed? What do they look like inside? Why are they still there and what condition are they in after 80 years? This video explores those questions, and others.

Hope you get a chance to get out there. Also, right across from the bunkers is a short trail to ruins of Humboldt's oldest lighthouse (see previous video on this). It's an interesting site!
