Kalakaua the last King of Hawaii always showed respect for Samoa and the Samoan people. He was an accomplished writer. He wrote how he petitioned the Samoan Chief to send Samoans to live in Hawaii because he was seeing that the Haole (non- hawaians) were out numbering Hawaiians. Kalakaua wrote that the Great King Kamehameha was of Samoan lineage. Kamehameha was born on the big island of Hawai'i in the village of Upolu which was named after the island in Samoa which is also named Upolu. The big Island of Hawai'i was named by voyaging Samoans after its discovery. It was named after the largest Island in Samoa we know as Savai'i Now you know if you didn't before.

John Williams the missionary captain cooke English navy and the other crooks is why the Pacific island peoples look the way they look,I hear words in some of the songs you find in African languages and the same style of singing. Any way sound is prestigious and pristine and I love it 🌍🌅🌊🌴

Wow! It's such a blessing to see this because we came from a line of the man that they used to call the king of Samoa Malietoa. Wow!!! God bless our people and land of Samoa.

Sonya Jeff Sue, sis, I too come from the Malietoa line - the original Malietoa, that is. But Malietoa today is not the king of Samoa. That would be Tuia’ana Tuimalealiifano. Malietoa was never king of Samoa in olden times, as there were Tuaia’ana and Tuiatua who were kings in there own domains. Samoa was not one kingdom; it was several kingdoms.

Your facts are not correct Vainuupo Tavita met with John Williams that's how he got his christian name David=Tavita.? You need to do better research?

“facts are not correct”? If they are incorrect, then they are not facts at all.

Yes it was Malietoa Vainuupo who welcomed John Williams and accepted Christianity in 1830. His name was later changed to Tavita after King David of Israel.

Samoa has three royal lines Sa tagaloa lagi and the moa family. Tui Manu'a Tui Atua Tui A'Ana Everything started from Manu'a where the art of Tatau originated in the village of fitiuta, honourable MalietoaI is not our king!
@afeserranafatali50474 жыл бұрын
Sorry,where do you get your facts from please? When you say "Royal" how do you mean? There are four titles of all Samoa ( papā) Tui Atua Tui Aana Vaitamasoali'i Gatoa'itele Sa Tagaloa lagi was a God...not royalty; Ma lo'u avā tele, se'i fofolaina maia se pine faamau, poo se faamaumauga o le aiga "Moa" e Tupu? Meaning, can you please provide a summary as to how Royalty is in the Moa family? E iai fo'i se pine o lau saunoaga, na amata mai mea uma mai Manu'a Can you also provide a evidential summary "how everything started from Manu'a"? Ma lo'u Fa'aaloalo lava-, Faafetai

In ancient times, yes, but Malietoa also comes from a royal line. He also traces his lineage to Tagaloa. By agreement, Independent Samoa accepted him as king of the whole country, but alternating with the other royal lines of Tuiaana/Tuimalealiifano and Tuiatua. As for Tuimanu’a, man, there is no more Tuimanu’a. The title is no longer a king’s title, laid to rest, buried. You people from Manu’a need to let it go. Tuimanu’a is no longer relevant. Man, stop spreading ignorance.

Jakzon Tinae, how do you the samoan tradition when you never existed then? There is some flaut in this video. Need more research and true references to expose the history of Samoans. There is American Samoa and Western Samoa. Establish the separation and differences!

This is the samoan way of singing that I love... the modern day singing with a piano playing in the back ground is just frustrating and appalling.
