May Allah the Alsamad make all Somali territories places where Islam is powerfull and resides like know and more, and may Allah protect our children from the evil of the foriener countries we emigrated to. May Allah protect the brother as well. Brother an advice is try to keep your life style simple like the messenger of Allah sala Allahu alayhi wa salam, I understand that you are from civilised country but try to keep your life style simple, we Somalis our life is simple because our background is from rural shepherds Alhamdu li Allah, although we become civilised some how. +Fadi Al-Mufti The Ancient-Egyptians named themselves "Rageedii": "The perfect men" in their language and the Somali People use still now this name "Rageedii" with the same ancient-egyptian meaning "The perfect men". For example in somali language : " U dadaal sidii Rageedii"= Make efforts as Rageedii ,the perfect men. Here, Some historical and linguistic proofs : The Famous French Egyptologist Christiane D.Noblecourt , in her book "Hatshepsout ,the Mysterious Queen" detailed the expedition of Queen Hatshepsut to the Land of Punt and she said that the Ancient-Egyptians and The Puntites used to speak and communicate with the same language./ « Again the representations of the early Puntites, or Somali people, on the Egyptian monuments, show striking resemblances to the Egyptians themselves. » By Brian Brown New York: Brentano's[1923]/ In “The Making of Egypt” (1939). Petrie states that the Land of Punt was “sacred to the Egyptians as the source of their race"/ "The King Sahure (2458-2446 B.C.) from this Egyptian Old Kingdom, Dynasty V (2498-2491 B.C.) made a trade expedition to the Land of Punt . Egyptian ships also reached the shores of the land of Punt on the Somali coast to procure highly valued cargoes of myrrh, ebony and animals, among other goods. " Text Reference: The UNESCO General History of Africa: Ancient Civilization of Africa, Vol, II, General History of Africa, G. Mokhtar, 1990, p 64-68 . / "The Egyptians sometimes called Punt land Ta-Netjeru, meaning "Land of the Gods," and considered it their place of origin ." (Richard Pankhurst, The Ethiopian Borderlands:1997) / The greek historian Diodorus of Siculus in his book "Universal history "said that in 6th century before-J-Christ , because of a political crisis in Egypt and the euro-asiatic's infiltrations in Egypt , more than 200 thousands of Ancient-egyptians migrated in the south of the Nile By crossing Ethiopia-Nubia with their boats ,in the direction of North-Eastern of Africa (Now, Sudan, Somalia ,Djibouti,Ethiopia ...) This last historical fact can explain why the somali language is a survived ancient-egyptian language ,according to the british linguist : "The language of ancient Egypt belonged to the Hamitic group; Surviving Hamitic languages are spoken across a large part of North Africa and include Somali." (The english language ,A Historical Introduction," by Charles Barber,british linguist .) All the symbolical ancient-egyptian names : "Horakhty, Aton, Horus, Isis, Nebhet ,Hâpy etc... " were preserved in Somali language and still now , the somali people use these names with their original egyptian-puntite pronounciation . For example : "Oraxthy" means" the sun" in Somali as the ancient-egyptians. "AAR" means "lion" in ancient-egyptian and also in somali . There is a huge somali-egyptian linguistic and historical and cultural proofs . Thanks for reading and sharing ! Short Egyptian-Puntite Research made by Abdisalam Mahamoud ,Master II degree of Philosophy :History of Civilisations and Religions.

+Fadi Al-Mufti " According to the Ancient Egyptians themselves , the egyptians came from the Land of Punt, the land of gods,ancestors and even , Queen Hatshepsout of Egypt (15th century B-C) said that Hathor The mistress of Punt ,her mother was from the land of Punt ,from "Buun" the ancient name of Somalia ! To conclude ,"Buun" means in Somali "Horn" and the Land of "Buun" (or Punt in european language) is located in the the Horn of Africa, in the Somali territories, " by Abdisalam Mahamoud . @nfnmrm96528 жыл бұрын
John L ethnic Somalis have no trace of outside mixing. Just because someone does not west African doesn't mean they're mixed. Somalis also are very tall and have completely different features from Arabs. Arabs are short and have curly hair features foreign to us. Also, if we're Africans mixed with Arabs we would have had nappy hair and not have 90% of the population having straight hair. Also, how can people with Nomadic heritage even mix with Arabs? City folk we understand, but Nomads? If you wanna apply one feature to a whole continent then we will demand separation and distinction from them just like North Africa.

(The english language ,A Historical Introduction," by the british historian and linguist Charles Barber .) 1) In ancient-egyptian language "Hes" = song,sing with musical instrument / in somali language :" Hees"= song,sing with musical instrument. 2) "AAR" means "Lion" in both languages . 3) "Usha" means "Scepter" in both languages . 4)In Somali-Egyptian" Shub" means a)"pour out , " b) construction made of concrete . 5) In Somali-Egyptian languages :"Sekedseked" means " Redoubling of the building blocks ,Stacked building blocks or something else . 6) In Egyptian-Somali : Neter/Neder (divine being) Hipo/Hibo (it means "gift" and the sound "p"it is not mainly used in Hamitic languages ): Heru/Huur (a stork) : Tuf/Tuf (spit) : Habi (the Nile)/ Habi,ᵓAbi (source of water,to drink ,give him drink ) Wabi ( a river) ; Kab/kab (shoe) brq/biriq (lightning) :"Qbb/Qaboob (cold,cool,fresh ): 'ayah/dayah (moon) ; dab/dab (fire) anka/aniga (pronoun "I" ): su,asu/usi (he) ; Ka,Kaah /Ka,Kaah (Him,the man's appearance, spirit,vital essence,) ; Xi/Ki (a such ) ; Hati,Hat/Haat,Haati (widen wings,flying birds) ; medu/muud (liquid), Hoo/Hoo (to offer ) , Gundhate ,Gunti/Gundhate ,Gunti (loincloth) ,Maanta/Maanta (today,morning ); Kaua/Kaw (standard number one ,1,first ) ; NefNefi/NefNef,Neef (respiration,breath ), (Râ,Horakhty /Râh, Horrahthy (the Sun) In Ancient-egyptian "Râ" is the sun-god / in Somali "Qor-Rah" means the "neck of Rah ,sun-god . ( Qor= neck / Rah: sun-god) the letter " a" is pronounced with the voiceless pharyngeal fricative [ħ] 7) Egyptian Somali :Awoow /Awoow (grandfather,old man) ; Ayeeytha/Ayeeyda (grandmother,old woman, old age ) 8) In Ancient-egyptian "Hun, Hunnu" = young man ,young girl/ in Somali "Hun, Hunnu,Huunno" = young man , young girl . 9) Two Somali/Egyptian Similar Names of the Pharaonic Enthronement : Sare,Hore/Sare,Hore ( the High and the First ) 10)In ancient-egyptian :Ausar =god Osiris ,ancestor of egyptians /.In Somali : Ausar,= Father Sar (AW-father ; Sar), Isir,Ausar = Ancestor , venerated in the Somali Culture in the antiquity according to a Somali Historian and linguist Diriye . 11) In Somali Language "The pyramids" means "Xabaal-Maguur" =" Stable Graves " There are many similar words somali-egyptian ,preserved in Somali language. I just shared with you some examples above but you can find many others if you fond of the Egyptology and History . References : "Egyptian Hieroglyphic Dictionary by Budge" ; "Black Nations and Culture by Cheikh Anta Diop" ; "Learn Somali by Diriye Abdillahi " Fiqi's Somali English Dictionary " by A.A Hashi 1985 .etc... Praise to God ! The Ancient-Egyptian Hieroglyphical Writing and Symbols are still alive and kicking in 2012 A.D.“ Generally , The Somalis use the "Sumado" ,the hieroglyphic Symbols in their traditional and social way of life . As example ,here ,to the right of the picture of Osiris ,we have the Hieroglyphical Symbols of the Issas clans in East Africa . extracted from the book: "The Search for the Ugaas in the Xeer Tradition” by the Dr. Ali Moussa Iye.Chief of Intercultural Dialogue Section in Unesco .(1995-2000).The Somalis use still now culturally these hieroglyphical for the social regulation like the Ancient-egyptians pharaohs .The Issa tribe is a branch of the Somali People in the Horn of Africa .They live mainly in Djibouti , in Ethiopia,Diridhabe region and the North of Somalia ,in Zayla ,Lughaya and Awdal region . In ancient-Egyptian language "Sumado" means"write the hieroglyphs" and also in somali ,"Sumado" means "the Hieroglyphs" and you can observ these somali current hieroglyphs, to the right of the Pharaoh's Picture above . Conclusion: Somalia is ,now, the Ancient land of Punt : Homeland of the Ancient-Egyptians . After ,the asiatics and europeans invasions in Ancient-Egypt , most of them came back and migrated to the south of the Nile , in the direction of the current Horn of Africa , Land of Punt ,Somali Peninsula .The road of frankincence and myrrh from Egypt to the Punt,"Pwenet " was not forgotten by the Ancient-Egyptians .The Somalis share also this common Ancient-Egyptian Past with their cousins in North-East Africa ,the Tutsis, the Oromos, the Afars, the Saho,the Beja, the Indigenous African Egyptians who live still now in Egypt etc... The End . Thank you so much for reading and sharing these historical facts .

Somalis aren't Arabs. Qabiil is just fairytales, isaaq and daroods are not descented from Arabs. Yes it's true there is some cultural similararities but that is due to close proximities.
@forgetfulstranger6 жыл бұрын
You know I feel the same way but my dad keeps stressing that darood was an Arab dude who settled in somalia blah blah like that doesn't explain where the other 80% of somali words and culture came from
@thestealth24486 жыл бұрын
filthy casual all clans claim Arab descent, but daroods and isaaqs love to stress it. It’s easy to debunk isaaqs claim of Arab descent, there aren’t manuscripts confirming if isaaqs are ahlul bayt, the lineage they claim is false and has lots of mistakes etc. Isaaq is a subclan of dir, all dir clans attest to this and no dir attest to an Arab sheikh arriving to maydh. Darood is harder to debunk since they have a manuscript called aqeeliyoon, dir’s wrote down the arrival of darood etc. But dna test clearly show they aren’t Arab

+Somali pirate SubhanAllah. I pray that our ummah comes to understand that a black revert is equal to a white revert, they are only different in piety. I went to Uganda to give Da'wah a couple of years ago and I actually left and came home early because I was so upset by the fact that being a white revert was like my main selling point. More knowledgable Nigerian reverts who are better than me and went through worse than me for the sake of Allah swt were there but weren't given half of the attention that I was. Shame on the people who imposed a white superiority complex and shame on the Muslims who buy into it still today. I ask that nobody watch my videos, praising me because I am white, I am simply your brother from another culture who has loved your language and culture and Inshaa'Allah you would equally support a black revert who was doing similar work. May Allah guide all of us.
@mojo-vl3en7 жыл бұрын
Sam Of Somalia it's has nothing to do with people believing white superiority or such jokes like that, it has to do with probably seeing white Muslim in Uganda, and maybe some Ugandan Muslim brothers believe that not sure, FYI so many Somalis believe they are superior to any other human being, not all of us believe that though, majority of Somalis believe we're superior to other human beings, believe me brother Salaama.

No secular Somalis ? maybe that is why the country is so poor and backward.
@abdulbasitmahamud40658 жыл бұрын
+slimeronio You want the answer. Its started by the colonies. But i have to tell you that secular does not bring food the poor owns. It brings depression, and a meaningless life. The Somali people are happy and that is what they share with the world. True happiness comes from believing in Allah.
@Mythodiir8 жыл бұрын
+Abdulbasit Mahamud I'm an Atheist. Then again, I just consider myself Canadian, not Somali. I've been to Somalia a few times. Religion poisons everything. Somalia would be a million times better if the Arabs never came to our shores with their perverse mental slavery. The only people who are drawn to Somali culture are weirdos like the guy who posted this video. He looks like he's one conversation away from boarding a plane to Syria and joining ISIS. Somalis were a peaceful and happy people before Islam ever existed. Islam came and it raped the minds of the people with superstition and barbarism. Also, I've been very critical of colonialism in the past, but when it comes to colonialism in Somalia, it was practically nonexistent. The British used our ports and mapped our territory, the Italians built a bit of infrastructure in Mogadishu and gave us pasta, and the French created Djibouti. There are a lot of countries (India, Nigeria, South Africa) where colonialism damaged society, but to say colonialism is the root of Somalia's problems is delusional. It may have hurt our pride to have our territory claimed by Europeans, but they didn't do much beyond keep their ships in our harbours and build a cathedral or a railway or two. The average Somali outside Mogadishu and Berbera wouldn't have noticed a difference.

Somalia joined the Arab League under the Siad Barre regime for economic reasons only
@laylamahmud37487 жыл бұрын
No Somali, except those few with identity issues, consider themselves Arabs. We are of the Cushitic branch as are Ethiopians, Eritrieans, and Djboutians. Arabs are Semitic. The only thing we share is the beautiful religion of Islam and occasional history of trade/merchants. As for 'black' it is mostly a western idea/concept. In the west everything is classified as 'black' & 'white' etc. it is very 'race' oriented there due to its history. Else where in the world you are merely defined by your nationality/ethnicity/clan/family. So Somalis and people from other African nations will consider themselves African but will usually think 'black' refers to African-Americans only and thus say 'no, I'm not black, I am African.' Considering that the worlds media tends to portray 'blackness' as westerners of African descent (African-Americans, European Africans) only it is not surprising. Younger generations born in the west will tend to identify as black because they grow up in an area where the social concept of race is always emphasized. (Have you ever noticed that other groups of ppl identify first as their ethnicity, Korean, Japanese, Thai vs Asian, but Africans are ALWAYS expected to group themselves into one large group, black, before their own ethnicities? We are 'othered') We also joined the Arab League for political reasons only and it turned out to be mistake considering Arab leaders stayed silent during our entire Civil war. I hope we leave, we've not gained anything from joining.
